    Murray played to his level. He's ranked number 4, so you'd expect him to reach the semi-final if the ranking is correct. He did this and lost to the top ranked player as you'd expect. You can't call that choking. If he'd lost to the number 32 seed, that would be choking.

    surely the concept of choking only applies on the big stage, at the crucial moments?

    Its choking because one poor service game destroyed him mentally. His game was noticable worse after that even if Nadal improved. Your right though. not a poor tournament for Murray but today is an exampe of why he wont win a grand slam.
