I would be so frustrated with players if I was an arsenal fan! I think our boys did great and made it hard for them but players like wilshere, sanchez, ozil (didn't play yesterday) don't seem interested to me.
Beginning to think that Diame is probably the best player ever. Of all history. Including Pele. He's my hero.
The attempts by some on this thread to try and deny that it was a foul are quite frankly embarassing. It was a clear foul, it should have been an Arsenal free kick, absolutely no debate about that. We got away with one, but we've been on the rough end of some decisions this season so it was about time something went our way.
True enough, Airlie. But, with our god-like view of televised games, we tend to forget that the referee only sees what he sees (assisted by his linesmen). Then again, the ref is sometimes swayed by the antics and appeals of the player(s).
Does that mean what Diame did wasn't a foul? No, it doesn't. It was a foul, end of. If that had been against us, you would've been calling for the ref's head. Fact.
I have seen numerous comments that we got lucky when we didn't as the first foul was ON Diame. Simple as that. It would seem you can't read my mind even though you think you can as my view is that fannying around on the edge of your box is asking for trouble, no matter what shirt the player is wearing.
I think it was a foul, but the best thing for me is we now have a midfielder with power and strength who gets stuck into the opposition, possibly our best summer signing.
Yes it was a foul, but why did they all just stop .. madness .. little surprised that wenger didn't have more of a whinge about it tbh .. he and the whinging arse players usually bleat from the highest roof tops
If the ref doesn't give the first foul on Diame, then it's fair that he doesn't give the Diame foul either, if he didn't ignore them both, the we should have had a free kick on the edge of the area. All of which is academic, as he didn't give it and we scored and we've had plenty of similar decisions go against us. **** 'em.
Can you point out where I actually said it wasn't a foul? My whole point is that there are 2 fouls BEFORE Diame commits his both of which the Pundits/Arsenal fans/Some Hull city fans are ignoring. I'm not sure why you are saying I'm wearing 'rose tinted glasses' but hey-ho.
Never a foul. Flamini should remember that there is also a Law against obstructing an opponent in an attempt to prevent him playing the ball, the Gallic twat.
If the ref gives the 'first two fouls', we don't score. If he gives the foul by Diame, we don't score. Whichever decision you think he got wrong, it led to us scoring a goal, we got away with one however you look at it.
It was a foul was it ? Three Arse players trying to bundle him off the ball, which he fought for, and won, and then chipped the keeper, when he could have thrown himself to the floor, Wiltshire style, rolled over half a dozen times and pleaded for a penalty. Also I was taught at school to play to the whistle, not run alongside the player with arms outstretched and a look of amazement on my face pleading for a free kick. Great goal by a great player. Clear foul my arse.
And Arsenal got away with 2. But I assume that doesn't fit the 'Hey we got away with one....YIPPEE' attitude I keep seeing which was and is the point I'm making.
it doesn't matter what you, me or some one in the MOTD studio thinks, it's the bloke with the whistle and his two assistants who decide. Football is still a contact sport. Concentrate on the finish which was sublime.
You're talking rubbish. It was a foul. Everyone knows it everyone said it. No ones complaining we were given the goal. We're just acknowledging it was a foul and we'd have gone mental the other way round. Never mind what Wilshere or anyone else did in the game.
