Just phenomenal game yesterday, I expected a tough challenge and we did not look fluid in the first 20 mins. It was shaping up to be a hard day and if I'd tuned out after that I would have predicted a 2-1 defeat. How did it ever end up 8-0? Sunderland gifted us 3 or 4 but the other 4 or 5 were sweetly worked. A pleasure to watch unless you're a Sunderland fan. I would be appalled to ever see a saints side fall to pieces like that. Last season we were Bruno, likeable, everyone wanted us to do well but not really up there with the best. This season we are looking like Tyson, we are out to destroy teams. We certainly destroyed Sunderlands GD and defensive record yesterday.
Yep. All the reports say he curled the ball into an empty net. Not true. He curled the ball around the fast retreating Mannone and into the net. If he had miscued it in any way Mannone could have stopped it. That's a magical left foot he's got and his right foot is no stranger to great touches either.
Hope so mate. Not sure we can stay top 4 but no reason at all why we cant be top 6. We still have jrod to comeback and can strengthen further in January. Its all looking good!
Have to admire Poyet...he held a press conference when others managers have refused to or sent in their assistant. He also said that, being good at technology, he produces clips for analysis but he hasn't the time to do as many clips as required for this match, so the team will have to watch the whole game again
Having watched the game again, I want to give special mention to Tadic. I have NEVER seen a player play with his head up as much as him. He is always looking for the pass and seems to take more pleasure from his assists than he does from his goals. He will always be able to bring out the best in other players. How good are Clyne and Bertrand by the way? The latter is making Shaw look lightweight, at least with his attacking ability. Finally, praise for Long who basically wore down the Sunderland defence. His run for Cork's goal was superb, completely taking the defender out of the space that Cork was running in to.
I am still in shock that Clyne wasn't given a run out for England...Chambers wasn't even that good against San Marino (when even I could have shone).
Roy should be made to sit down and watch the whole of yesterday's game, to show what two attacking full backs in top form are capable of doing to a side. Someone should also point out that Chambers didn't even get into the Arsenal side yesterday.
On Sunday Supplement on Sky, they have been discussing what we have been doing right at Southampton...with special mention for Cortese and Les Reed. Said we had a fantastic template here which other clubs should look at. Suggestion was that Cortese may have feared that things would crash here, but it obviously hasn't. One journo said that a team like Southampton is good for the PL. Mentioned Pelle and his lack of success at other clubs before coming here...they obviously haven't realised how good he was at Feyenoord. It was pointed out that we have already got targets for next summer...they then had to ruin it by saying we would struggle to hold onto Tadic.
On Sky, just compared performances of Lallana/Lambert this season to Tadic/Pelle. Guess who came out best
With a lovely profit though. He seemed honest when he arrived and I can understand if he wants to move on, if we make top 4 I doubt he will leave unless a huge team comes in for him.
If a bid came in for Dusan,it would have to be a huge amount of money for us to sell,I mean we paid £10.9m and he will be under a long contract. And knowing our board it would have to be £20+ even for it to be considered.
More like Sugar Ray I think (Leonard or Robinson). Patient, deceptively restrained, happy to work off the back foot for long periods, but absolutely lethal when the openings appear. Oh, and extremely difficult to lay a glove on.

The other thing to note is that the sides who could pay that for him are already rather well stocked in that area. I know it would be a bigger pay day for him but I would like to believe some players move with a hope of getting first team football (even Milner and Bridge at the start). For example commentators were saying Eriksen turned down Man City a couple of years ago. Currently I would say Tadic has at least matched Lallana's value. Sides who could pay: Chelsea - loads of wingers and attacking midfielders and too many overseas players at the moment (Oscar, Schurrle, Willian, Hazard, Fabregas, Salah) Man United - Di Maria, Rooney, Mata, Januzaj etc. They can't fit the ones they have in Man City - again lots of attacking players and short on the home grown side so would sooner go for English if forced. Linked with Barkley (and Jay I believe) Liverpool - Have Sterling and only just spent 45m on two other attacking midfielders (including one from us) Arsenal - enough attacking midfielders to field a side of them. And all played out of position as it is. If they signed another instead of a defensive player I am sure their fans will finally snap Top 2 in Spain : As good as Tadic is he would not get in their sides I don't know when the journos are expecting us to lose him but there do not seem to be the slots for him in other top teams at the moment. Probably part of the reason we managed to get him in the first place (as with his goals, assists and chances created last season there is no way he went unnoticed by scouts)
