I haven't...well not since I was ten...and that was because at the time I wanted to be a pilot and girls couldn't be then.

So people that 'troll' on social media can get up to 2yrs in prison depending on how bad the stuff they say. So basically you can be locked up longer then a rapist for saying words.

Only the worst would get a 2 year sentence. I think it is essential to make people think what they are doing...you can't threaten rape and death to other people with impunity. I'd just not go on twitter...but it is wrong that people are prevented from going about what is now a normal part of life because of low lives. Remember that even if the perp is just a saddo with no life, they may be winding up others who may act. 'Just words' will not get you a prison sentence...serious threats which cause alarm (and may even ruin someone's freedom to enjoy their life) repeated despite warnings may do so. Life is different these days...new crimes have arisen...I really hope Richard Maddeley finds this person or persons threatening his daughter and takes them to court. He has the money to take it to the final stage and act for all those little people who have no voice.

 

It is just words until acted upon tho? That's why they are called 'trolls'. Yes it could lead to something else but then that wouldn't be trolling then would it? I get they need to clamp down on the abuse some people get, but when a rapist gets less prison time then a person giving threats then something is wrong.
