Agree completely Weighty! The league table only starts taking shape around Christmas. If we can still be in the mix we will be in with a really good chance.
So much for what some of the Budgies were saying at the start of the season! They should realise by now that the Championship isn't as easy as they thought!
I think at this stage of the season it is better for us to stick with the pack and keep under the radar, rather than to put our head up to be noticed timing is everything.. That said we would be top if there was any justice in the world..... Better to keep the undefeated train chugging on than to let the wheels come off with a defeat against poor opposition.
Definitely two points dropped,we really should have killed them off. Also question MM's timing on the subs,Hunt should have been off ten minutes earlier and we might not have conceded.
We seem to be in a phase that we were last season when we kept throwing away points from winning positions. This is our main weakness and something Mick will have to sort out if we are to become serious contenders. No faulting the boys today you need a little luck as I understand Goldy smashed an effort against the post late on!
Would rather be four points better off than playing air force and trains. Still happy with the season so far though, just wish the last two results had turned out better.
Anyhoo boys I'm off to get absolutely bolluxed.... It's my birthday! Have a good evening one and all.
For some unknown reason, we stopped going forward in the last 10 minutes again. As for Rovers, they were just dirty. Don't feel so bad for letting Rhodes go mind. He only touched the ball 5 times in the entire game!
Hunty was poor today lost possession that ultimately led to Berra giving away the free kick that led to the goal, hunty should have been off at H/T was the worst player on the park first half, I appreciate MM was trying to get Hunty off when he gave the ball away but MM, he should of already been off, while I am at it what is all this "let's sit back and invite them on to us for the last 10 mins", they were looking for the one opportunity and we coughed it up, I know MM says the players need to learn but surely MM should know how to see a game out by now?
Well, 7 hrs drive and 300 miles later, am I gutted? Of course... Very good performances by several players, Bru amazed us all, a real talent... keep him in middle... came out 2nd half and bossed the park. Took the game to them and looking oh so f...kng comfortable after Goldy's cracker, and then MM put yer bleeding hand up! Wrong decisions...3 of them on the trot gave them a totally undeserved point. 1. Wrong subs... bad timing..Hunt( not bad at all and grafted well and some fine touches ) should have gone earlier. 2. Bru off... wrong again. Ando... defensive comes on and looks lost... 3. Ambrose put on in the 93rd minute....as they were lining up the free kick that scored their goal... really unsettling for Gerks who had another good solid game. Stopped a blinder in 1st half. And Why oh Why sit back and defend the last 10?!! Should have put on Henshall, pace and a threat, and pushed them back, not pass the f''in ball backwards, and let them back in. Never fear tho...a fine attacking 2nd half and should have put them to the sword. Awful they were. Bad habit. Knock it on the head MM. 4 pts wasted... and next up, in form Cardiff. Not confident that we can finish games off ruthlessly to justify competing for autos. Enjoyed the game, tho... what a difference a season makes!
...too right Hawkins... among the many positives were the performances of Parr and Jonny. Tommy too stepped up well, Skuse puffed and same old errors. Salmon ok and made a nuisance of himself. Murphy would have bagged at least 2.
Warky always annoys me with comments like this, I guess that's his remit. I don't feel the same need to belittle our rivals. Fact is, very few Norwich fans thought the Championship would be a doddle. We thought we have a strong squad, certainly, and so we damn well should given the money spunked around in the Premiership. Still a long way to go, so who knows. I think your team have surprised a few, must have been a bit gutting today. I'm a big fan of Mick as a fellow part paddy. He has a great record in this division. I like that we're battling it out together, especially as it's at the right end of the table, long may it continue. The race is on! On a lighter note, Warky old mate, I've worked and partied in Barcelona, on separate occasions. It's awesome, enjoy! (or if this is now in the past tense, hope you enjoyed!)
That's Warky for you Gandy! Yep, very tight Championship...5 pts separate 6th and 17th! We must rid ourselves of idiot habit of not finishing the game off.....4pts at this level gifted in 94th minute...2 in a row! But we are surprising other teams. Should be exciting Xmas build up.... and the table might look very different. If Warky surfaces today he has to see something of Barcelona... my favourite European city! After Norwich of course...I was born there last century!
Only making an observation on what some of your fellow Budgies have said on your Promotion watch thread Gandy! Why you think this is an attempt by me to belittle my rivals is all very strange maybe bordering on paranoia! As for Barcelona it never fails to disappoint Gaffer.
