"Note, however, that the referee may change the original restart if he realises he has made an error or on the advice of hisassistant referees, provided play has not yet restarted. For example, if the ball has gone out of play because the ball was kicked into goal by Team A and the referee has signalled that a goal has been scored, but then notices that an assistant referee has indicated a foul by a Team A player immediately before the goal was scored, the referee would change to the correct restart of a free kick to Team B where the foul occurred."
****ing disgrace. You do not lose eight nil to anyone. Not even ****ing City. I don't care what people say about Southampton, they're a very, very decent side but they're not good enough to justify that drubbing. I certainly won't be calling for Poyet's head as I like him and think he can do a decent job for us but it's inevitable that he'll come under pressure from some quarters now. I fancy some will never forgive him for that I'm afraid.
Oh, well it's only footy and all that, I've had worse days ' Actually not very many, come to think of it ...
Typical Sunderland! On the back of a confidence boosting result against Stoke we produce that!!! Cant see the reverse happening and us producing an excellent display/result next up! The manner of that defeat could cost us more points than the 3 we didnt get today! Might take a while to get that shambles out of our system!
He is going to come under constant pressure for me with Bridcutt. The lad isn't good enough, yet he still puts him on to play with the big lads. He was again embarrassing today, passing woeful, positioning woeful, decision making woeful, he isn't even Championship quality. Mind you the rest of the ****ers weren't much better.
I was at a family wedding when we lost 8-0 at West Ham ........ it was in Consett and half the reception was black & white, ****ing long night that was
Only supporting Sunderland could have me one week thinking that we might have a good season then the next week thinking we are ****ed! hahaha!
Whatever their result today is totally irrelevant after that shambles. Nothing can detract from what has happened, there will be no silver lining!
I am confused Marcus, are you saying that if a player gets wiped out and the ball then goes out of play the referee can't give a foul, or are you saying that if the ball is dead then contact is made the referee cant give a foul? If a foul is committed during play, the referee can either give a foul or play the advantage then award the foul if no advantage is gained. But the ball must be in play for a foul to be committed.
I wouldnt care, I'd been out all day so thought that I'd not look at the score/result till I come home. I put Soccer Saturday on the telly and saw 0-0 and I actually said to myself 'That'll do me....I'm happy with that!' Then my eyes started to gradually focus......... The full horror of what happened will probably hit me when I wake up tomorrow and its the first thought that enters my head!
I was under the impression that a foul can be given when the ball is out of play too! I mean, if I'm standing waiting for a corner to be taken, and a defender punches me square in the face and knocks me out, the least i'd expect is a penalty! I might be wrong though!
46th anniversary of that match is tomorrow. I was there. Would rather have been at a ****ing wedding reception.
