So Koeman celebrates his manager of the month award by contriving to stick 7 (seven) past Sunderland!
It's starting to look as if Adams has been good at giving the team spirit (coming back from behind so many times) but not much else. We have had to chase almost every game this season and that is certainly not a good sign. He needs to do something radical next game or we're going to be mid-table soon.
We're still in a good position. Close enough if good enough. But I am starting to wonder if we should have scoured Europe a little more carefully.
Forgive me if I've missed something but why have we seen so little of VOO this season? Is he injured? I'm also getting annoyed at our recent form and our inability to beat Fulham yet again.
What should Adams do next game? Grabban gets dropped? We go to 4-5-1? We actually play a player we paid 3 million for? We do something about a defence that goes to sleep at least once a game? Derby and Watford could pull away at this rate. It's not looking good.
As I have said several times, Adams needs to evolve as a manager, I am now getting a little concerned that his evolution is slowing down and in fact he is struggling to get out of the primordial soup. I would have preferred Lennon, but the opportunity wasn't there I guess.
Oh well, the hoodoo was not buried today. We looked a little incohesive and midfield and attack strangers to each other. Josh was good when he came on, but Fulham looked like they wanted it more, and their goal took the wind out of our sails. Would have been interesting if the penno had been scored, but it wasn't and we need more in the bank if we are to re-establish ourselves at the top table, because we need to be beating the likes of Fulham to justify our place there.
I am beginning to think that Grabban should be rested for a few games, make him hungry and work harder at the things he needs to work on. Wes to not start (which may be a forced change for Tuesday anyway) Formation? Not sure as the City are mostly dominant with 4-4-2, its the lack of creation and finishing that is costing lots of points in recent games, not sure a change in formation will address that.
Thought we were poor today. A lot of moving the ball around, but all to absolutely no purpose. Still should have drawn. The penalty miss is very frustrating.
I simply fail to see why we play Martin at CB when we have CBs available. And having lost Fer in the summer, we 'scour Europe' and come up with what would appear to be a perfectly adequate replacement, nurse Howson back to full fitness.......and STILL play Bradley Johnson ahead of either of them. Every week
Absolutely. It is really starting to look like the clique (with the exception of Snodgrass) who failed under Hughton are going to play every game under Adams and we are even going to warp our entire system if necessary to fit them in.
Only watched the second half. But look too slow with the ball in the final third. Lots of possession but a lack of movement inside of the wide players and too predictable on the crossing. Lack of drive from the central positions when going forward. Fulham defended what they had to quite well, although just putting in crosses certainly played to their strengths. They were professional with their play in the last 30 mins. The ref never prevented their time wasting and some cynical fouling. He generally looked pretty poor. Most people would of been happy with where we are, if asked at the start of the season. But I agree a slight change in personnel for the next match would be no bad thing. Looks like Wes maybe out anyway so an enforced change. Still plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
