He's a very good player but very good players don't win Grand Slams, great players do. He beats the big guys in the smaller tournaments but gets walloped in the Slams.
3rd really? I would say he is 5th best in the world. Murray is capable of beating them in normal tournaments but in GS Nadal and the others just ramp it up to another level which Murray is incapable of doing.
I don't like Djokovic, he just bores me. I haven't seen him hit any shots where I've thought "Wow!". I don't like him or Nadal, the final is going to suck for me! I loved watching Federer at his peak because I think he is nore naturally talented.
most top sports players dont overdo the small tournaments. they use them for practice this gives the impression that the likes of murray can beat them ali used to get knocked around in sparring and turn it on for the fights these lot are brilliant in practice but come the day, utter shoite
He would win plenty of Slams in any other era. It's hardly his fault that he's playing in the same era as two of the greatest ever tennis players.
crazy. which is why he'll win wimbledon, and more than likely break federer's GS haul. never seen a player so focussed when it comes to the big points and moments in a match.
He has shown today that he isn't mentally tough enough. He was brilliant up until that shot but the way he has fallen apart since then is quite shocking.
what when Fred Perry won? who could he beat? mcEnroe? Connors? Becker? sampras? Face it he would never win, These 'domination' periods by the likes of sampras and bjorg etc took attention away from some very good players Players like Lendl and evn imo the likes of roddick etc would have been the stars and winners never murray
we hear it from him all the time, how he's doing "positive mental reinforcement" etc..but it's the same old, and quite shocking hos his game has fallen apart because of one sitter missed. nadal would probably have won anyway, he always does..still shows how vulnerable murray is tho
I don't like Nadal, he out runs and outpowers his opponents but he's not as naturally talented as Federer. Federer has more variety to his game and I loved watching him play at his peak.
the only way to get a british winner is to take tennis to the masses its a rich mans game at the moment, too much talent gets wasted
A lot of the English hate Murray but if he was to win Wimbledon a lot more English kids would take up Tennis. It would be good for English tennis as well as British tennis.
no they wouldnt, not long term anyway. sure, they might for a couple of weeks but they'd soon lose interest when the hype dies down, just like it happens after every wimbledon.
Bit sad this really, Nadal is so much better it's making Murray look a lot worse than he actually is. He's a good player but can't compete with someone of Nadal's class. Sadly, that will mean he's deemed a bottler which is a bit unfair as there is ridiculous pressure heaped on him. If he were in the other side of the draw he'd reach the final. He's ten times he player Henman ever was, that's certain.
disagree with that most of the 'hatred' is banter but he gets a lot of support. if he won most would be chuffed i work in regeneration and i have seen most places that had tennis courts being ripped up
