You're quite welcome sir. Wasn't it just? They were a class outfit. It was a great result, well deserved despite the quality we faced. We just kept going. We're tough to beat now.
Saints think they will roll us over, quite arrogant really for a p*ss pot club with a history of winning very little.Should stick to Brighton and Bournemouth derbies really.
They are a work in progress team, pretty much as we are, and they ran Spurs close away from home. Too close to predict a clear result but need the speedy build up merchants on today.
I'm not Fletchers biggest fan at all, it would be crazy to drop him after scoring twice in his previous game though.
I just think either him or Wickham will miss out because of the system Poyet will play. Wickham is the strongest so I went for him, but your right Fletcher should not be dropped. The one thing I would bet is that we will play one up top. He could put Wickham wide though
I reckon it'll be a more open game than some are expecting ....... I'll go for 1-0, John O'Shea in the 94th minute
I think the style of play of both teams will mean it's more 'end to end' than some expect. We can't sit back for 90 minutes and I think Poyet will be looking to break as much as possible. Southampton conceded at home to QPR, the bottom side, so will be wary of us. They're playing well but not hammering teams and the defeat at Spurs was a reality check.
I hope we don't sit back Smug but, I think he will play four across the middle in front of Cattermole and try to stop them coming through us. I don't mean protecting our eighteen yard line like we did with O'Neil, I mean two banks of four with Cattermole between them mopping up. That will make us hard to break down and with our pace, dangerous on the break.
Its another tough game in the Premiership, dont we love them, depending on our back four and JOS in particular, keeping this forward line in check, we will win, Whicks and AJ to score, onwards and upwards with Gus, ha-way the lads.
Thank you for noticing. Genuinely. Should have been picked for England two seasons ago. But then he'd have been tapped up (like all the others) at the WC and left in the summer so probably not a bad thing. Vin
He doesn't speak for all of us by the way. Difficult game for both I think. Said on another thread the international break came at the right time for Southampton and wrong time for sunderland. Looking forward to the game though
Dunno mate, dwelling on a defeat isn't always good ...... we had a good win and goals from 2 strikers to bolster us.
I think this is what will happen today. I'm pretty sure Gus will want them both on the pitch from the start.
