Am going to be back in UK for Christmas this year. Have already got tickets sorted out for Man Utd game on Boxing Day courtesy of my company's season tickets at Old Trafford but would also like to get to the Sunderland game on 21st December.

As I understand it I will have no chance of getting tickets for this game on General Sale so my question (s) is what do you advise the best way to get 1 or 2 tickets is:

    1) join as a B & W member. Do they get preferential ticket access?

    2) two tickets to one of the hospitality packages. Do these normally sell out quick for the derby?

    3) match programme or captain sponsorship (bit pricey but could be a good laugh as long as I can get two other people to share the cost)

    4) season ticket, which I can then rip up as a protest against Mike Ashley knowing I wont be able to attend any other games or sell to Mr Tiote who I know would secretly like to have one. Do the season tickets come down in price if you buy them part way through a season or do they just have the full season and half season?

I know it sounds like I am being a bit extravagant but don't often get the chance to watch in the flesh. Only managed 3 games last season as the house in the UK flooded and I had to be back while it dried out and to sort out the insurance claim!

    Appreciate any advice.

    1) Probably

    2) Everything sells out quick for the derby

    3) Never heard of that....

    4) I think they only have full season and half season, but as you've probably gathered, I know very little about it all <laugh>

Sorry I can't be more help dude <ok>

Club membership does give preference on match tickets but only after season ticket holders have bought what they want. For the home derby I reckon you may get a ticket okay but you need be on the ticket web site the morning they go on sale to be sure.

Thanks anyway. I found the Captain Sponsorship on the Club Website. Its pricey (1100quid plus VAT) but includes the following:

    Captain's Sponsorship
Directors' Box seating for 4 people
Exclusive Newcastle United gift bag for each of your guests (Probably a Sports Direct Bag with bargain bin items from club shop)
Company logo featured in the sponsored game's matchday programme and hospitality TV screens (see if you could get away with SackPardew.Com)
Stadium PA announcement (could be interesting as well)
Opportunity to increase numbers to 12 guests at pro rata price
    Pre-match pitchside photograph
    Hospitality for four guests
Private table on the Chairman's Level 3
Official replica Captain's armband signed, framed and presented post-match by a current or former Newcastle United player
    Champagne upon arrival
    On-site car parking (1 place)
    Gourmet three-course meal
Complimentary bar consisting of house wines, house spirits, beers, lagers and soft drink (account bar facility for any other
    drinks ordered)

Thanks. Going to wait and see what I can get officially and then go to Viagogo if not. Plenty for sale on Viagogo now but as you say not cheap.
Don't quite understand how Viagogo can be an official club sponsor and official reseller of company tickets when they are offered for over face value. I thought that was actually touting. Not that I have a problem with touting - just that I thought it was illegal.

If you become a member you should have no problem getting derby tickets, apart from wanting to punch the computer. Become a member and get online when they're on sale you'll get one
