I cannot believe it . Watever has happened to the "Johnny Haynes 'We are Fulham'" banner between the Riverside and the Hammy End? As soon as I entered the ground this evening, I knew something was wrong. The banner has gone! Never one to exercise conspiracy theories something is afoot and somebody is tinkering with our image. And of course one also spies for the first time, live as it were, the new 'kit'. You can't tell me those are shorts; sir,they are bloomers of propotions that put Queen Victorias drawers in a resounding second tier. As naughty children we us to sing a ditty that started with the rendering, 'My Aunty Mary had a canary up the leg of her drawers. My goodfellow, you could get a hippo up the Kappa (I refuse to refer to the as Fulham's) renditions. Ridiculous !!
I was in the riverside tonight so didn't notice it but would be a shame if it were to go. Hopefully will return for the start of the league season.
As far as I know Its not a banner owned by the club. Its owned by a fan who had permission to be put up there.
WDWW, I think the competition winning banner is the "Believe" one in front of the Cottage. I think that only went up last season whereas the We are fulham one has been there for a while - maybe it just got tatty and had to be taken down.
I think the We are Fulham banner sums everything about us in one sentence. It's an emotional phrase, I'll be upset if they don't keep it.
Still not back ! I understand it was put up by a fan at the beginning of each season, with the club's permission. Maybe the club are waiting to put it up at next Monday's birthday party for MJ (the staue that is).
