Stoke City v. Swansea City Sunday 19th October 2014 - 16:00 Britannia Stadium Previous Premier League Meetings 2011/12 season - Sunday February 26th 2012 Stoke City 2 (Upson,Crouch) Swansea City 0 Managers: Pulis - Rodgers Swansea's line-up: Tremmel, Rangel, Caulker, Williams, Taylor, Sigurddson, Allen, Britton, Sinclair, Dyer, Graham 2012/13 season - Saturday September 29th 2012 Stoke City 2 (Crouch,Crouch) Swansea City 0 Managers: Pulis - Laudrup Swansea's line-up: Vorm, Rangel, Chico, Williams, Davies, Ki, Britton, Michu, Pablo, Dyer, Graham 2013/14 season - Wednesday 12th February 2014 Stoke City 1 (Crouch) Swansea City 1 (Chico Flores) Managers: Hughes - Monk Swansea's line-up: Vorm, Rangel, Chico, Williams, Davies, Canas, Britton, Routledge, Pablo, Dyer, Bony Some random facts and thoughts Peter Crouch has scored 4 times in 3 games against us at The Britannia With Fabianski in goal we have a better chance of preventing it being 5 times in 4 games Let's hope Federico Fernandez knows what he will be up against Shawcross v. Bony could be a bruising encounter Rangel is back after suspension but Shelvey is now suspended for 5 yellows We need to keep 11 players on the pitch The Britannia is the 9th highest stadium in the football league at 431 feet ASL Do Stoke fans sing "Rule Britannia"? If not, why? Potential line-ups .................STOKE CITY .......................Begovic................. Bardsley.....Shawcross....Wilson.....Muniesa N'Zonzi.....Whelan.....Diouf......Adam ................Moses........Crouch......... ....................Bony.................. Routledge......Sigurddson...........Dyer .............Ki...........Carroll............. Taylor......Williams......Fernandez.....Rangel ...................Fabianski................ ...............SWANSEA CITY Prediction This game has the feeling that all results are equally likely, so I'm going to sit in the middle and predict a draw, 1-1.
Crouch loves playing against The Swans'. He'd like it even better if our Garry was actually playing. Stoke should have enough to win this home game.
Well done Aswan back to footy at last!..................I'm going with a 2-1 to the Mighty Swans, due to the fact that Bony is now up and running, and Siggy is on fire at the minute, and Garry Monk is a class act, and I cannot stand Mark Hughes, so here's to a great win to the Mighty Swans!...............
Agreed - Hughes is a nasty piece of work. I think we can nick this but Stoke are strong at home. 1-2 with Bony putting the International nightmare behind him. EDIT: good effort, Aswan Better than my crappy effort last time.
depends if Monk has the gumption to play our best players. I think he'll stick to what he likes. 3 - 1.
And who out of our best players has Monk not picked yet? If it's one things Monk has done consistently, it's been picking our strongest available sides every game.
Stoke will be a tough test but its time for the "" Swans" to soar A victory by two goals will do just fine and set the tone for the rest of the season. My only""nervousnes" comes with Crouch's ability against us , much like Carroll's ability to dictate the game when playing us .3 -1 Swans .
We need to start winning games again or we'll be in the bottom few positions in no time. Stoke are 16th - we are 5th, but a 3-0 win for Stoke would see them move above us. Don't let this 5th position lull you into a false sense of security. The truth is that we are winless in 4 games now taking 2 points from 12. Best I can see out of this is a draw but think it will be another defeat.
Stereo.... It's tongue in cheek. Your post is spot on. What we're pointing out is that anyone who points out the facts as you did has a tendency to be shouted down by some, and worse. God help you if PGF pays a visit and gets on your case. He's a kind of Party Whip.
