Morning all, disappointing to lose yesterday but Boro are on a good run at the moment. I was wondering how it works with Kit being assistant manager to Cookie with Wales. Does it now mean that we will be without his services for the international break ? Obviously most managers would love to have a couple of weeks with their squads, albeit some will themselves be on international duty.
I'd missed that froggy and a very good point. At the time he was appointed this statement was issued - "The FAW is delighted to confirm that former international Kit Symons will become the assistant manager for Wales. Kit is currently working with Fulham. The following has come from the club: The Club can confirm that Fulham FC Academy Manager, Kit Symons, will be joining the backroom staff of the Wales national team on a part-time basis. Symons’ role with Wales will not impact upon his duties at Fulham FC." Source: http://www.faw.org.uk/news/FAW82498.ink That was then and this is now - strange that Kit made no reference to this commitment when he talked about the International break in Friday's video.
In today's internal video interview Kit confirmed that he was with Wales on International duty. Posting the video here since it's mostly about the Middlesbrough game and training during the break while he (and a number of players) were absent. He should have not gone, if I was an employee this would have count negative in terms of commitment...
I think it was Cookie (or perhaps it was Kit himself) who said he couldn't do both at the same time. Would it? Wales is a commitment in it's own right, and as he's not been given the manager's job full time he's obliged to honour his job with Wales. I'm sure this situation will have been discussed with the relevant parties. I wouldn't expect Kit to put all his eggs in one basket and give up the Wales gig for a job, let's be honest, he might not have much longer. I do see where you're coming from though.
