They won't have strengthened a glaring obvious position of weakness........

Sounds a bit like us though KPR, how long have we needed another Forward, Wingers, LB, etc.... =/

KPR is probably right. Ferguson has probably passed his sell by date. He was out played by Rooney and his agent. He clearly displayed an inability to lift his team in the CL final and give them a new tactical structure - defeat is one thing but surrender is another.

United's success last season had more to do with the failings of Chelsea and Arsenal than it did to the quality of their own play. Your midfield is an unbalanced mess.

And yet more clueless statements from Himbo..the bellend of not 606..what a grade a tw4t.

The only reason ferretscum has been the most successful manager is due to length of service..Any football fan knows who the most successful manager in English football is for trophies won per season in charge..Ferguson isn't even fit enough to lick his slippers.

Humm I don't think you can realy deny what Fergie has done. I cannot stand him either, but you shouldn't deny him his work.

    Bluff.
    Look mate.I agree entirely.
However Kenny signs players for positions. He's always done that.Okay they may not always be the most attractive players out there, but he knows they will do what it says on the tin.He doesn't do ''luxury players''.Some people believe that his most important signing as Blackburn manager was the £3.3 million he paid Southampton for Alan Shearer.I don't believe that. His most important signings were all unattractive and not what you would call big names. These were Tim Sherwood,Stuart Ripley,Jason Wilcox and Colin Hendry,(whom he paid Man City a pittance for).None of which were what you would call glamourous.

Now Ferguson in his early years made similar signings when he signed nobodies like Denis Irwin(rejected by Leeds) from Oldham,Peter Schmeichel a nobody keeper from Brondby,a relative unknown called Andrei Kanchelskis. His catalyst was a troublesome journeyman french forward called Eric Cantona. He knew he could ''tame the beast''.He was right and he was successful.

Now it seems that he's fallen into the trap of signing established players.Years ago he would have signed Chris Smalling from Maidstone.Roy Hodgson did that and made Fulham a £9.9 million profit in the process. In fact the last nobody Ferguson signed that wasn't for a nominal fee that was successful was Ole Gunnar Solksjear in 1996.

The ''Rooney saga'' also showed proof of a chink in the armour.Rooney and a lot of people will agree with this ''bullied the bully''.In 2005,Ferguson booted Roy Keane out for doing what Rooney did.Keane slagged off his own team-mates and ''questioned the ambition of the club''.Rooney did the same thing.
Ferguson ''punished'' Rooney by giving him a 150% payrise.

Years ago Ferguson would have done to Rooney what Kenny Dalglish did to Fernando Torres.Kenny refused to be bullied by Torres. He said ''you can go,but on our terms.we're not going to beg you to stay'' ''Nobody and I mean nobody, not even me is bigger than Liverpool Football Club''.Even Steven Gerrard is afraid to upset the applecart. He knows only too well if he steps out of line and his performances dip,Kenny will go through him.
Gerrard knows he's no longer the ''main man''.The side can function perfectly without him and has done.Luis Suarez is the man that makes the Liverpool side tick. He's the orchestrator of what Liverpool do well.Gerrard is just another cog in the Anfield machine.

Has Ferguson signed for positions or has made signings out of spite.Personally I think he's done so out of spite.

Respect him for what he's won..But he has no grace in victory, no humility in defeat. Always trying to play the victium, always moaning he doesn't get things his own way. He's so up his own arse, he bans reporters from carrington who ask questions he doesn't like. Sacked for spitting at a fellow member of staff, son who attacks woman. Allround scumbag, perfect fit for United and there fan base.

I've always said that making Fergie a Knight would have made a mockery of the honours system if it wasn't one already. But, as we're a football forum and are discussing football achievements, I think it's pointless to deny that he is one of the best managers ever.
I'm glad he's classless because at least it gives us something to have a dig at him for.

I would tend to agree he is a bit of a tyrant. The lack of humility and the general domination of characters he faces is part of why he is so successful.

Years managed to the number of trophies won means that he cannot be mentioned in the same breath as one Robert Paisley. If it weren't for Thatcher, and her anti Liverpool atitude would have been knighted.
I however agree that Ferguson recieving a knighthood made a mockery of the honours system. If it weren't already a joke when they knighted Trevor Brooking and Bobby Charlton and Cliff Richard and Elton John.

If someone said he was past it years ago they'd deserve you're comment.

But you as a manc must see that hes losing the plot as he gets older,as dave pointed out rooney held him and utd to ramsom and that would'nt have happened "years ago"

As I said Rooney ''bullied the bully''.Would it have happed a few years back?, not a chance. He would have given Rooney the hair-dryer...not a pay-rise.

Hmm let's see. He led a team that many people claim are his weakest for a long time to the league title and the European Cup Final.

He's lead his team to 4 league titles in the past 5 seasons and 3 Champions League Finals in the past 4 seasons.

He's done all that despite losing his best player.

But yeah he's clearly past it.

I wonder if he wins another league title next season will you still say he's past it?

    Just proves my point further.

You laugh at Man Utd for having all these "average" players yet Sir Alex manages to win titles with them.
