Can one of the Mods find the old thread for this?
I seem to remember having a rant about the ****ing McCanns and their preferential treatment.
If they had been Mr and Mrs Smith from a council house they would have been hung out to dry, slanging them off for DRUGGING their children to go out drinking.
Because these two are "posh" the papers and establishment went out of their way to sympathise.
Their was a lot of outside interference with the original investigators, making out the police "over there" wasn't very good.
I'm one step away from being an alcoholic and wouldn't even have considered leaving my kids whilst on holiday to go out with my mates. (Especially so young and needing to sedate them! FFS! )

The 'abductors' must have been wearing 'Ebola protection suits'.

They managed to enter the flat, snatch a child and carry her away without leaving a scrap of DNA, a hair, a flake of skin!

They also managed to do all this, in a busy holiday resort, without ever once being caught on a mobile phone camera or cctv.

They managed to get a girl who only spoke English out of Portugal.
All this without any paperwork or passport and in the full glare of the world's media.

If a crime writer wrote it as a fiction it would be rejected as too far fetched.

Two things that bother me most about this case. One is the fact that a witness Charlotte Pennington a Nanny confirming that she heard Kate McCann scream 'They've taken her, They've taken her' and the other an extract from Kate McCann's book...

on page 129 of her book, Kate says

"I asked Gerry apprehensively if he'd had any really horrible thoughts or visions of Madeleine. He nodded. Haltingly, I told him about the awful pictures that scrolled through my head of her perfect little genitals torn apart"

Firstly, why did she assume that it was a 'They' and not a 'Someone' or 'Somebody' after all if it was more then 1 person surely they would have abducted more the just Madeleine. Why write that about her missing daughter? In the future her other kids will have access to that.

Im not saying that they are guilty but questions need to be answered by them which clearly arn't.

Forensic Scientists reckon that you cant be in a room without leaving forensic evidence or leave a room without taking forensic evidence with you and it is their job to find that evidence.

I can only assume that there is forensic evidence suggesting third party involvement, otherwise the McCann's would have been arrested and charged by now.

I don't know how they haven't been charged with child neglect though.

If there's third party forensic it wouldn't mean the McCann's aren't responsible.

There would've been cleaners, previous occupants, etc who had been in the room.

Yes there would have been plenty of forensic evidence ruled out or 'satisfactorily explained'.

I am not saying they are innocent, but if there was conclusive evidence they would have been charged.

I don't think there's anything conclusive about any of it mate.

    It's a tragedy for sure.

I just find the tales of child abduction gangs prowling the flats of a holiday complex a bit far fetched.

I agree with you 100% Smug, I try not to be influenced by conspiracy theorists and like to rely on evidence, but there is more to this than we are being told.

A few years ago, I said to my wife that the exposure the McCann's are getting can mean only one thing, the police are giving them enough rope to hang themselves. I still believe that but it is taking longer than I thought.

    My thoughts entirely.

Sadly it's developed into a weird stand-off because the McCanns have surrounded themselves with attack lawyers, spokesmen and a huge entourage. They have huge amounts of money, in the 'Maddie fund' to threaten, or carry out, legal action.

I would like to read the book by the original investigating officer, the Portuguese policeman. They sued him but it's nailed on that he saw right through their story.

There are so many unnatural things about their story.

But what truly amazes me is that people fall for the nonsense that, somehow, the McCanns could see the flat where their tiny children were.

    They couldn't!

There have even been suggestions, on here, that the parents were 'keeping an eye on them'.
