Great news and very pleased for this ultra reliable professional Now lets get Corky and JRod sorted with new long term contracts
Fantastic!, Here's what Rickie wrote about him..... "Davo is a great player, he defends and attacks and has qualities at both ends of the field. He fits into any position across the midfield and gets on with his job. He is underestimated by the fans and the media but he is valued by the right people; by the coaches and managers and the players around him. I can remember speaking to Mauricio Pochettino about him and he pulled a face as if to say 'What a player'." There is a reason why he has been selected to play in almost every game by the last three managers and that is because he is the glue that hold the team together.
I'm delighted that Saints fans are beginning to get this guy (sorry if you did from the outset, but lots didn't). Super player. If the bugger could score goals .... But he'd make my team every week. No messing, just a totally solid midfield player. Towards the end of last season I thought he was having a greater impact than Lallana (e.g. Everton at home) and, as it turns out, he's less of a twat! Delighted that he's enjoying some international success too. How many of us are supporting N Ireland because he's the captain? And to echo the other sentiment on here. Jack Cork, please, Ron.
His nickname should be Mr Dependable. He doesn't get me off my seat in excitement but he will always put a shift in and always does his job. He just can't bloody finish!
More good news. Didn't realise his contract was up so soon. Good to hear him say the ambition at the club hasn't changed since he originally signed. Take note those players that used the clubs changed ambition as an excuse to leave.
It's all been said by everyone, and I'm glad we all agree about Steven. Great news, and surely it means that Corkie's new contract can't be far away either.
Glad he's signed a new contract, with Mane, Tadic, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Cork, Ward Prowse, Reed, and Davis all looking to get game time add to that Long and Rodriguez then you'd have to say we are pretty strong in that area. I'd say the new deal has slammed the door on Gaston ever playing again. If it wasn't already firmly closed.
I suspect you're right, but I hope he at least doesn't demand to leave on the 1st January. That would place him above twatbeard but just below Lovren in the "being a ****" scale.
