I think I thought Hamilton might lose it because it all turned out in Rosberg's favor and left Hamilton on the back foot again.
I just want to see the two of them without the mistakes and fighting it out over a period of laps before the end of the season...I mean a proper fight til the end.
Don't forget grosjean nearly won that race until he also broke down. That track is also known for the Webber loop de loop
Well, this one was certainly no candidate for 'race of the season', was it? Given that Tilke had to 'drive around' the Olympic village though, I'm not sure he could have done much more with the layout; and now that many aspects of the circuit have been learned, not least the phenomenal grip the tarmac is giving – which of course has implications for Pirelli – I'm sure we can look forward to better spectacle in future. As AG said, there was plenty of early action which rapidly sorted the field into pace order (with the notable exception of Rosberg), thus eliminating a good deal of potential for battles later on. But I think we should bear in mind that if Rosberg had made his ambitious move stick, we might have witnessed a titanic battle for the win for a good deal of the race with both drivers likely to stop for tyres within a few laps of each other. In this sense, it was disappointing to see Rosberg's attempt to out-brake Hamilton fail so catastrophically. Actually, speaking of Rosberg, and despite the dominance of that car, I think claiming second prize was quite an accomplishment. Then again, I agree with those who've mentioned Pirelli's ultra-durable tyres – and that this helped his recovery enormously – but I still thought at least one of the Bottas/Alonso/Button group would stand higher on the podium. On the plus side, and in the sense of looking back on this remarkable season after it's over, the result slightly reduces the chance of a World Drivers' Championship being decided by Bernie's worst (ever?) gimmick. Ignoring the names of the main protagonists and current standings, I say without bias that if the ludicrous double points for one race (or equivalently, half points for all of the others) interferes with the final result, Bernie's wayward bullet will have hit his own baby squarely in the foot. Regardless of personal favourites, most people I've spoken to agree that doubling the value of reliability halves the reward for effort from drivers over the same period; and that with Mercedes now having won the Constructors' Championship, what should remain is a DRIVERS' championship, not a reliability championship for one or other side of a constructor's garage.
Yeah my Gran Turismo tight cornering technique is to use the wall to decelerate from 200 mph to 0 mph in about 4 metres and then accelerate again (On street circuits). Even better if a car is ahead trying to corner properly, meaning I could use it as a moving wall to decelerate, with the added bonus of bashing the opponent car into a gravel trap thus making it lose 10's of seconds whilst leaving me perfect poised to carry on the racing line... I never did like the races where no heavy contact was allowed...
Using other cars as a brake is a key skill in Gran Tourismo. I'm surprised there isn't a section on it in the tutorial. I have occasionally attempted to race without making contact with other cars but it never pays off. Skill is nice but results are better. Ask Nico.
on the original I used to open the door on the outside through the last bend to give my friend the gap, then when his nose was edging ahead I would complain the car wasn't gripping enough and drift out nudging him into the wall. Every time we raced it was the same, it was and endless font of mirth for me.
Welp, I'm done with this planet. http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/9519773/Bernie-Putin-s-a-first-class-person
Given it's Russian media I think those quotes are highly likely to be, at best, heavily embellished. Though I hope they get picked up by someone like Private Eye or The Guardian, maybe we can get a scandal after all.
One word... Bernie. Sounds exactly like something the bum licking, slimey turd stain would come out with. Can they sack him now?
Ecclestone is in a league of his own, who's going to sack him, the guy is untouchable, he could say or do almost anything and get away with it, he could probably bribe a banker with £millions and only get a fine.
Bernie's a great man, i don't see why people are complaining? What's this, an extra million in my bank account?
