Never normally one to criticise our managers, but I wonder if this little episode of management with us has destroyed any chance of him returning to the UK? He damaged us for sure, but I think we may have damaged him too, for good.
Can't see any club at any level taking a punt.....useless manager (shame really cos he seems like a nice guy). Might be OK in a minor role at Man U, but can't see him working for any other club in the world outside of Norway. Can't even see Sky taking him on as a pundit, cos his reputation is so crap, and he appears to be clueless. A shame really.
he won't get a job in england in the top two divisions, he'll have to go back to the norweigan league to rebuild his reputation, its mickey mouse and incomparable to any major league, but this doesn't matter. he didnt get the job here because he deserved it, he got it on reputation, which IMO, although damaged, another foreign owner will give him a job here in a year or two.
Ole and Laudrup were two managers who were great players but crap managers and should they ever work in the uk again then they should both be no higher than No2 but in my view kit man would suffice.....
I know a few nice people too. Doesn't mean they deserve to be paid a fortune to fck up a football teams future
Dai whats the post got to with Laudrup! Re Ole I think there is more chance of Malky getting a job in the top 2 tiers than Ole has.
no he didnt. if you look we were playing rodgers style of football and that is what won us the cup. laudrup change our philosophy from that point and we hardly won a game after that......
go and see his record and come back and say he was good ....2pts from relegation ffs. he ruined the club from top to bottom and thank god jinx put a stop to that before it was too late and thank god he had the vision to appoint monk. cardiff should have done the same thing and appointed bellamy and they would not be where they are now....
laudrup has been hit and miss, OGS has much less experience and was trading on the reputation he has as a thinker and a protege of fergie. laudrup has also traded on his reputation. management and managing bigger clubs is all about timing though, one minute you are rubbish then the next minute the best thing since sliced bread, look at pulis for exampleâ¦...
Its rare that a world class player will make good managers, take the special one he never played higher than first ,second division equivalent. Fergie was nothing special when he played, It takes a special type of person to be a successful manager and not how good you were as a footballer....
I don't ever remember reading any posts of yours describing Laudrup as being "a crap Manager" in the wake of him leading his Club into a top ten finish in what you constantly proclaim to be "the best League in the world". Oh,and he was the Manager when his team won the Capital One Cup,and led them on a reasonably successful European journey. "Crap managers" don't achieve those successes. Let's see if his successor can emulate him,but I wouldn't put any money on it happening.
Anyway and back in the real world and getting back to the original question before our rather rude countrymen from down west hijacked the thread. No i think OGS is finished in the UK.
he basically tried to manage us as if we were man u, constantly rotating players. understandable as he would have picked up alot off fergie, but he needs a rethink on his strategy. in my opinion, all this about him being a 'thinker' and so on is just baloney, it suited him to let people think that way but i never really bought this thing about his supreme intelligence. football is often a simple game complicated by people who don't know what they're doing, as he showed. look at slade, just getting things back to basics with a straight forwards 4-4-2 with a higher work rate and we've got 2 wins from 2. the players are easily good enough to win games at this level, they just need the right guidance.
