3 Jockeys have died after falls this week (Carly-Mae Pye, Juan Saez (only 17) and Caitlin Forrest)...often overlooked when we think of dangerous sports. Carly-Mae Pye died after banging her head on a starting stall...that surely needs investigating.
I was thinking about this when the usual knee-jerk reactions were occurring following Bianchi's accident - people calling for closed cockpits etc. It would be the equivalent of asking jockeys to ride wearing a Zorb ball. Sportspeople are aware of the inherent risks in what they do. It's part of the appeal and the rush of it all. Safety is paramount, but we shouldn't sanitise sport wholesale.
Even my housemate likes Stardust!!! The reason we broke up was mostly due to practical reasons. It's a shame, had circumstances not been how they were then things could have been very different.
If anyone hasn't posted up a thread you can do so now. Koeman has said NO to Holland, in an interview. Maybe later, but not now. He's fully committed to Saints. Sent on the super-duper Samsung.
