Media, Rodgers and Sterling !!

  1. Well, all I'm actually getting at with that question is; what's more important, training or playing?

If training stops a player from playing then how is it beneficial?

Obviously, Raheem could have trained then played as well and he may have been fine but I don't have the fortune of a crystal ball.

  5. I made no such assumption. The last comment I made (which was posted the same time as yours) clearly backs this up too with my comment about a crystal ball :)

    PS...you didn't answer the question either <whistle>

Also, I think people are getting too hung up on the 2nd recovery day.

Some people think that it's a complete rest day i.e. no work but my understanding is that it's a light training day. Does anyone know?

    Playing is more important <ok>

I think to some extent too much emphasis is placed on training, [with the national team] maybe it's the wrong sort of training that gets players injured. 5v5 at 50% intensity is far better than 100% intensity, for example. Tactical training v fitness training is something else. National managers should expect players to be fit enough to play or they wouldn't/shouldn't have been selected in the first place so their emphasis should be on tactics and again 50% intensity in tackling in a training session so the positioning is worked on but players aren't going to injure their own team mates.

I'm not bothered whether Rodgers told Raheem to take it easy [or whatever those with agendas are claiming happened] it's about protecting and developing in the correct way, a very young player, not about managers egos. Whichever team the youngster plays for doesn't or shouldn't matter, if it was young Chamberlain I'd feel the same.

That's why an international manager should play a similar style of footba to that of the most successful club sides where the most of his players play.

The top 6 all play similar football and that's where most of the players play so we should be copying that style so when they move from club to international they don't have to work on a whole new style each time.

That way if they kiss 1 or 2 sessions it's not a huge issue.

I dunno, I get the feeling it would make the tabloids.

  14. Also, why is there not a uproar about the lazy players that don't train properly? From the stories we hear, they may as well not train! Least Raheem isn't a lazy little ****ing scrotum like Berbativ or Balotelli :bandit:

  15. Understand what you're saying but Chelsea are the odd one out there, they don't play like the rest of us (mainly because they have a defence)

  16. I think this is the real issue. This countries tabloids get more publicity talking about England than they do for any of the domestic clubs. Any chance of a story around the England setup and they jump at it. Most football fans couldn't actually give a flying **** about Sterling, Woy and the tiredness issue!

When I go on a bender I find it beneficial to have a break and rest time between pubs, at some point I stop in Burger King. This enables me to continue and gives me the much needed rest that is required before moving on.

I think we have to respect that footballers also need this rest and we should support them and not abuse them. I know their pain as on some occasions I get kicked out of Burger King for being "too drunk" (is there such a thing?) why should I have to lower myself to the likes of McDonalds just because the world doesn't recognise that I am entitled to a break now and then!

  18. I don't understand. Why do you only do Burger King unless you get kicked out? Why do you not do all of them anyway

That would be excessive resting and I would be in danger of sobering up. <ok>
