Huddlestone for £5m? Plus a few million here or there. Around a little over £20million? And I believe our net spend was around £21m+ince this time? I stand to be corrected on these figures but don't think the overall spend was hugely different between the two seasons. Depends what we spend in Jan though.

Why are the Allams charging more on interest than the bank? Surely should be charging interest at a lower rate if they have our interests (pardon the pun) at heart.

Mac3 - I thought we spent about 2m on McGregor, 2m on Elmo, 5m on Hudd, 2m on Sagbo, but apart from that very little. Also Cairney and Evans left for a total of about 2m (per the accounts), so about 10m last summer compared to about 25m this summer.

Off set some by Long's ridiculous sales price. It shouldnt be to much more than last time.

That was offsetting the spend. The spend without taking into account selling Long is over 30m.

I included jela and long in the total yearly spend (if we go spend £14m in January, my point won't stand of course)

True, if we become a selling club in January and get rid of guys like Bruce, Quinn, Sagbo etc. who aren't getting a look in, then we may end up with a similar net spend to last season.

If we go out and add one or two - a Keeper and another striker for instance - then the net spend could be considerably higher.

£2m for Jela and Long in survival clauses would probably have been paid out this season once the TV/PL money came in.

Hobbs also left for around £1m in January.

I remember last seasons summer spend being around £15m according to the reported figures, then £12.5m in January on the strikers with £2m in add ons if we survived. That would be around a £25.5m net spend over the season if we generated £2m in player sales.

Obviously excluding any agent fees, signing on fees if they exist, deductions for sell on clauses owed to previous clubs etc.

I think we're about even now, to be honest. Don't think we need to sell. Hopefully we'll finish higher in the league and that earns quite a bit of money, also, sponsorship is better this year.

Quoting your numbers, £10m + £14m in Jan = £24m. Meet spend this time, I think it's £21m + ince. (Robertson 2.5, Maguire 2.85, Dawson 3, Diame 3.5, snoddy 8, Livermore 8, Hernandez 9.5 -12 for long and -3 for Boyd) I realise my maths doesn't work perfectly but I'm sure someone more ITK than I posted £21m a while ago. As I said, relatively similar this year not accounting for January

On a side note, I'm rather impressed with how or squad has been built and yet we actually made a profit.

If Wikipedia is accurate snodgrass signed on 30th June so he should be in there

It probably wasn't finalized until 1st July though.

So are we technically in more debt now than when Allam took over?

Roughly double the debt now, though it's lower than expected(ignoring all the money we spent after the accounting period).

But in less debt than 12 months ago, and in a position to reduce the debt further.

But are we now in a position in which the debt will go down gradually rather than increase constantly?

That's fine, sounds like the future is good, provided that we don't end up getting relegated.

I highly doubt you would get a loan from the bank at only 5% interest.

Allam shouldn't claim profit needs reducing by £6m July spend. He'd also have to recognise revenue on a pro rata basis. On a very basic level that would be £7m based on last years figures. Also, who owns the SMC. I thought the council owned it with the stadium been an asset of that company.
