Sorry about my errant comment Finglas - I was thinking more in the context of the British Isles, as GC later mentions. I do seem to have stirred up a hornet's nest here, although as you know, Swords is always a willing participant, defending my honour in this case.

When it comes to international football matches I enjoy following the other British Isles based teams, and after England, the Republic of Ireland would actually be #2 on my favourites list over the others.

You Didcot way Col? Until about 6 years ago I commuted from Leamington Spa to Basingstoke and back down the A34 about 3 times a week, and did that for about 7 years. I've done it a couple of times recently and cannot understand how I did it. The A34 is hell.

I am sick of Swords peddling this "home country" business over the course of a couple of years on here that I had to resolve this issue with him once and for all. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your country. Where we come from is as much a home country as Belgium is. Swords delights in baiting the likes of myself and Col about our patriotism and in both cases, he makes us out as being some sort of xenophobe which is totally not the case.

I am not far from Didcot mate. I played for Didcot Town and the youngest plays for their youth team. I was born in Wembley mind.
The A34 is indeed hell. The junction at Didcot sees regular smashes and I avoid it at all costs.

I am in Oxfordshire, but Royal Berkshire is only a few miles away to the South East.

I fu*king knew this would happen. I was going to mention it earlier in one of my posts but I held back.

Anytime Finglas gets into an argument/debate with someone on this Board, Nines comes galloping in like a Superhero to his rescue. I remember when this started and it was about two years ago. They're both mates "on the outside" and it ALWAYS happens that Nines lands in his size 10's to defend him. Its not fair on people who use the Board and have no relationships with other posters, particularly people like Queens etc who live on the other side of the Planet. I don't even want to go into the Queens thing but the one-sided way he was treated when he had a bust up with Finglas recently was embarrassing.

Nines, how someone could read this debate from start to finish and think it was some sort of calculated wind up on my part is baffling. Read over it once again - only this time take your friendship blinkers off - and see who was really making fair points and who was losing the head. And if that's Fingy not rising to something, I'd hate to see him if he really was being wound up.

Perhaps Roller could deal with Finglas' regular bouts of anger from now on because at least he'd be impartial.

Typical, you totally lost the debate and you call foul and blame the referee. I think you lost the debate convincingly and others agree with me.

For your information, I haven't seen 999's since the play off final back in May. That is 5 months ago now. I don't know how you make out that he is some sort of buddy. I can count on one hand the amount of times I have met 999's. I think he and Roller have been remarkably restrained in dealing with the pair of you. As far as I am concerned both of you have offended on many an occasion and both of you should have been banned permanently on numerous occasions. The behaviour of the pair of you has been nothing short of outrageous. You are like tweedle dumb and tweedle dee. Whenever there is a debate on any subject, you both come steaming in like a pair of nutters. Particularly if I am involved. Neither of you can have a reasonable debate without resorting to foul language and personal insults. I can have a debate without resorting so low. That's why I rarely get into trouble here. It is called self control.

Those comments there were uncalled for. You weren't involved at that stage in the debate and you dragged yourself into the debate. Apologies Swords for saying that you dragged him into the debate. He saw fit to make smart and uncalled for comments in a 2 way debate I quote "every single time doh". "Really not worth commenting" so you did just that, you commented. What were you implying by stating "every single time doh"?
