Numbers are all wrong TC,As we haven't had a league crowd under 20,000 how can we average 19,000. NOMINATION FOR TC ?
Correct Eire - your away support would not count in your average home attendance (there maybe a clue there somewhere)
The difference is clubs like Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves and Derby charge far lower admission, offering tickets for a tenner. Plus their average season tickets are cheap as **** in comparison. As far as the Leeds United fan base goes, it's well known to be in the top six in the country. Online merchandise outsells the likes of Man City, Newcastle and Tottenham etc
I think Glory is referring to the missing 'sleeping supporters' rather than the present 'dreaming supporters' TC. Should one day they return to the bigtime playing infront of a sellout Elland Road every home game they will be moaning about not being able to get a ticket for any games due to the glory hunters(not glory) snapping up all the tickets.
No cup games against lower league opposition don't count in championship averages as no other team can play the same team in the same round,so how can you compair. What next TC,are you going to include behind closed door friendlies. Go look for some more straws to clutch TC.
15 years ago maybe. 50 years ago Millwall's following was in the top 6 in the country - and both are completely irrelevant to today
Why you calling Eire[Glory]Ringo ? if you wern't already the 2 time winner and up for the vote anyway you could have joined TC with a nomination.
I see - you are only talking about Championship - that explains why some of you think you are in the top 6 fanbase - I will concede that once you exclude Premiership clubs, Leeds definitely sneak into the top 6
I paid 27 quid for Sheff Wed and 26 quid for Derby this season so the cheapo tickets ain't for adults, maybe there are deals for kids but they are the future supporters after all.
But you're not - In fact, you're not even close!! There are plenty of clubs in this division with higher attendances, higher turnover, higher market value - In fact, they beat you on all fronts
No it isn't higher ... see http://www.soccerstats.com/attendance.asp?league=england2 Anyway, the Wendies reduced their prices to £10 for their home game v Reading and, guess what, yes they had their highest attendance. Next game it dropped to just 18,000 mmmm ... I wonder why?
It was glory who bought up the laughable suggestion that Leeds are currently the 6th best supported team Chesh, not a reply to Eire but a reply to TC; If you are referring to the tradition of being a second tier club with very occasional stints in the top league despite having one of the six biggest fan bases in the country then I for one hope he bulldozes it and we perform at the level our size justifies.]
Bulls**t again TC.50 years ago you were in division 4 where you belong with crowds to match. If you are going to just make your facts up,try to make them more believable. FFS tc you really want the trophy dont you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Millwall 1964 The following account draws from a number of sources but heavily from Lions of the South by James Murray..... The day after relegation to the Fourth Division, Billy Gray pruned the professional staff from 29 to 14. Amongst the unlucky 15 listed were Dave Jones, Pat Terry, Joe Haverty, Des Anderson, John McLaughlin breaking up the team built by Ron Gray. "We must climb out of the Fourth Division or it could be the end of the club", stated Chairman Micky Purser. During Millwall's last spell in Division Four the average home gate was 11,583
Which 4 of these do you have a bigger "fanbase" than then? Man Utd Man City Chelsea Newcastle Arsenal Spurs Liverpool Everton Aston Villa
