Loic Remy: Why I left QPR and signed for Chelsea

LOIC REMY says he signed for Chelsea in order to become the best striker he can be.

The France star joined Chelsea from their west London rivals QPR for £10.5m in late August.

Remy scored on his debut for the club in the 4-2 Premier League victory over Swansea last month, but he has seen his first-team opportunities restricted by the sensational form of fellow summer signing Diego Costa.

The 27-year-old, who claims he could have happily remained at newly-promoted QPR, admits the chance to join Chelsea was an offer he could not refuse.

"When opportunities like this happen, you can not refuse. It happened late in life," he said.

“In my head, I quite wanted to stay at QPR, but I did not hesitate for one second for many reasons”

    Loic Remy

"In my head, I quite wanted to stay at QPR, but I did not hesitate for one second for many reasons.

"The move was for my improvement, for my confidence, in terms of level of demand. Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world."

Despite being behind Costa in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, Remy is targeting a more regular run in Jose Mourinho's side.

"I'm happy to have signed for a club like this. I know I'm not going to be the first striker, but nothing is set," he added.

"I have goals. By signing at Chelsea, I did not say it was to stay on the sidelines.

"I will try to move up alongside great players. The rest will happen naturally."

A very talented player that will find a starting place difficult to obtain.

I don't blame him for his consistent attitude, right from when we signed him through to when he left, though.

Brilliant Player who i wish the best to … Who wouldn't sign for Chelsea currently?

Who the **** would stay at a club which is currently about promises and run by bullshit and has a set of ruined fans who winge about everything and have no idea that they are infected

    Football is infectious.
    Supporting a team is infectious.
Expecting too much from the team is infectious.

It's like we've all just eaten salmonella riddled chicken that had tapeworms with a bout of flu.

Personally, I have no problem with that - just wish the chicken had a Southern fried crispy coating to make it more pallatable! :D

Good call. Definitely a good idea to direct some of the blame for QPR's toward the fans.

The fans just suck it all in … I haven't said they are to blame … What they are guilty of however is not realising what is happening here to them. We are a club on a massive transitional push and I said this would happen when i joined this forum. Look exactly how just this forum has changed. Having watched QPR all my life I know without doubt that we held a certain bit of neutral respect from other fans we no longer have that and know what success at any price. I believe the fans should stock check as look at where we have come from and who exactly we are.

Look what happens on here after a defeat if you want proof

Time to remember we are QPR. The fans of a football club should be the one constant and quite frankly enough is enough.

Remy was always going to be a temp … The **** up is that the club didn't line up or deliver a replacement … that is dreadful administration at any level of football

Take a deep breath lads we had a full French international playing for us

This is going to get worse as TF just ploughs straight into it … I said before we will sign a 20M player within the next two seasons … what happens to the fan's if he turns out to be a Andy Carroll?

    Keep it real

But regardless of my marble or any views that i lost mime … I have a point

I have watched the passion from the average QPR fan drain away

I am calling all fans to realise once again that we are fans of a very special club regardless who is running or managing us

Look we can all get pissed in our own ways … it's how we sober up that counts

Do you sill stand by this now, bearing in mind you have done the same? Thought not <ok>

PS i know you used "we and "our" later on but thats not the point...so did Harry.

I hereby freely admit that this sums me up to a tee! In my youth a die hard home and away fan to someone who has become bored of football in general and frustrated with the shambles that is the club he loves. To the point now where I tell most people that I have no real interest and only flicker of love left for what once was a burning passion.
I really think that we are mugged off by the game and all its millionaires these days. The Premier League is a mish mash of foreigners sucking every last penny out of every idiot that is willing. Sky killed the beautiful game and created monsters like Loic Remy and how many others that you can name that really aren't worth what they get. Compare him for instance to Martin Peters who has to do pre match entertainment at Tottenham for a living and you start to see how totally fecking bonkers the game has got!
As for QPR, its a shadow of what it was in the 70's and 80's when the fan base was passionate........or maybe I am just a sad old disillusioned miserable git!

All this said......I really hope we shove it up the scousers at the weekend!

What a refreshingly great post stick. This pretty much sums up how I feel too. Sad old disillusioned old gits we may be, but you're spot on. You should post on here more often and give the gee gees a miss.
