QPR battling to sign Brazilian Wamberto on free transfer Sunderland and Aston Villa also in the hunt for Wamberto. A talented Brazilian winger is attracting the attentions of several top clubs in the UK, SkySports claim. Wamberto, 20, plays for Belgian side Lierse, and has West Ham, Celtic, QPR, Aston Villa, Swansea and Sunderland all tracking his services. His contract expires in 2015, meaning any of the clubs can sign him for free from January for next summer, or pay a small fee to snap him up during the transfer window. Wamberto has scored once and created one assist this season - netting against Champions League side Anderlecht, with Lierse sitting 15th out of 16 teams in the Jupiler Pro League. Last season he scored twice and provided six assists, leading them to the play-offs. The youngster has been at Lierse two seasons and does not require a work permit as he holds a Belgian passport.
By West London Sport QPR are one of several British clubs interested in Brazilian winger Wamberto, according to Sky Sports. Celtic, Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland and Aston Villa are also said to be monitoring the 20-year-old, who is currently with Lierse SK. His contract at the Belgian club reportedly expires in the summer and he has yet to agree a new deal. It is claimed that a number of clubs are looking to capture him in January or sign him before then on a pre-contract agreement.
Wamberto sounds like he should be a performing clown in a travelling circus. Should he join us, he may yet etc etc
the moment Yep whats happened to the good old days when we used to do our talking on the pitch?.............. We now have messrs Redknapp, Ferdinand, Barton etc writing books, making inappropriate comments when they should be embarrassed by there ineptitude! Whats next "Charlie my rise to the top"
Sure. But if he's more interested in playing football as part of a half-decent team then QPR would be a poor choice.
Its started already the Jan transfer market? What QPR need to sign? Had enough of it … as QPR fans will instantly think we have signed a brilliant superstar and Harold will claim he has been after him for 12 years
