Just watch s3e11 of Lost. Who the **** said it got worse after season two? It got more interesting in season three IMO. PS...anyone else remember playing that chess game?
You like Lost and think the Office is ****? Dude you are a "Lost" cause. (pun intended). You must just have a penchant for completely ****e television
Debating whether to watch it now before bed. Probably will even though everyone on it is a prime prick.
Office is supposed to be a comedy but the humour is lacking, its school ground stuff IMO, plus Brent is more annoying than Justin Bieber!!! Lost isn't the greatest TV show I've ever seen but it is very enjoyable so long as you don't get too wrapped up in logical explanations for everything that happens. Sure there are ridiculous parts in it such as being attacked by black smoke (halfway through season three but can't see there being a good reason behind this). I thought the Polar bears were ridiculous too until Jack, Kate and Soyer were captured and kept in cages. Its a great fictional show IMO.
Started watching apprentice, think this needs to be the final series and the BBC should start coming up with some new bloody ideas
You're just wrong. Office is a classic. Love Ricky Gervais, I love his stand up more than his shows though. Also, Lost was great until they moved it to Sky and then it all went downhill (about similar time the Polar bears showed up )
The polar bears appeared in s1e2 I never said The Office wasn't a classic, I said I didn't like it or find it funny. What you quoted was just my opinion on it, hence me putting "IMO" #apologyaccepted RE Lost; I believe it switched to Sky after season three? (just checked, it was after the second. I actually think the third season is better than the others, much more activity)
A comedy classic - which obviously means its funny And your opinion is wrong Polar bears definitely turned up later than that....
Gervais is crap. The Office was dull, just a set of reaction shots of exasperation. Extra's was crap, just Celebs pretending to be ****ers in order to push the idea that 'they're nothing like what they seem on camera'. And have you seen the Simpsons episode he wrote... The Simpsons has been going downhill and episodes getting worse but that Gervais one is one of the worst ever. Don't understand how moving channel made Lost bad, sky had no input into the show at all, so that argument doesn't make sense. An if you kept watching things became clearer and took a different direction which starts to explain alot, plus there are some brilliant later episodes especially the Time Travel/ Desmond stories. Note for Gerrez; The Black Smoke is very important but you don't get an explanation till the final series. Candidates seem to be picked in the same way BB picked its housemates, 'Who is going to cause conflict'. They all seem to be caricatures that speak in stupid sound bites. At least in the first few series there were some good candidates who weren't complete bell ends
I've been watching it most nights for the last four or five weeks. Trust me, the first sighting was the second episode, third at most See episode two from here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_(season_1)
Much in the same way that Lost started making no sense around series 3 I wasn't linking it saying Sky made it bad, more than I seem to remember that after it moved from C4 to Sky, I became less interested in it as it seemed to get worse. Much like Hero's when that was on. Really enjoyed that but then I think it got to a situation where it went too long (like Lost) and moved channels and the interest in it dropped a bit. Comedy is hard, people find different things funny so when someone says a comedian is crap or a comedy show is crap/good, I don't really take much notice unless I know them and their sense of humour. Not having a go, but you obviously have to have that type of sense of humour to like him, doesn't make either right or wrong, just the way that comedy is so subjective.
Someone at work who watches a hell of a lot of TV (don't know where he finds the time plus he can tell just about anything about any of them too) and watched all the Lost seasons just like yourself. He obviously tries to not gives things away much like you just did but inevitably you pick up subtle things when discussing it. Reason I am saying this is because I'd already picked up from him that there is some sort of explanation at the very end (or thereabouts). PS...completely agree on Gervais too
Faor enough. Maybe I missed them and they re-appeard later on either way, I did enjoy the first few series but after it went to Sky, started watching less and grew less interested. Think should have ended it when it was at it's best.
I think season three is where everything starts to make sense and click into place Maybe its because I'm binge watching it rather than having to wait a week for each episode
There is an explanation for the Polar bears in season three too, around episode four or five at a guess (when Jack, Kate and Sawyer get captured)
Well that's it in a nut shell really. We all like different things and humour comes in many different forms.
Have you seen Gervais' stand up? It's very him... if you know what I mean, but it is also very funny.
I've seen it yes. Better than in The Office but still not great IMO. And I love watching stand up too. He's just not my cup of tea
