well done to paul scally!! some good signings indeed, just hope we intend signing a keeper no.1 as well as a striker or 2 ? most of all i really do hope charlie lee is heading in our direction though! nice kits also. GOOD NEWS ALROUND!! GET YOUR SEASON TICKETS TO HELP THE CHARLIE LEE CAUSE!!!!!!! UTG!!!
What a great day, when I said yesterday it will be good today, I never believed I would be so impressed, Love today.
Posting from a posh fan on another site... I think Fergie will be reluctant to let Charlie go as things stand. Good signing in Whelps though, thought he was an unsung hero in our promotion season two years ago.
If we get Lee aswell that will just like be the burger sauce on the Kebab if you know what I mean by describing that way, It would be brilliant, I know my description is weird, but LOL.
Gillsconnect believe there are on going negotiations with Charlie Lee http://gillsconnect.com/s/Gills_New..._BOYS_CONFIRMED_FOR_HESS_PROMOTION_PUSH.html?
That would be good as he did not look out of place in League 1 either did Whelpdale but in League 2 well great amazing two players.
come on HESSY do us proud, make charlie lee a gill and captain!! ROUND A GOOD FRIDAY OFF FOR US ALL!!!!!!
My only worry now is that Whelpdale will be on a loan but I doubt Peterborough will want to loan him out as I think they want to offload him and Lee, just want to see the details of all the players contracts.
Love It!! Just hope that Lee is signing now... i think pre seasons should give us a good view on Flitney (i hope)
Not a bad half dozen and if four of them come off we should be well satisfied. Hessy has shown himself a shrewd judge of players over the years and we should be confident in him. Two key questions surround these acquisitions. First, can the Dover lads bridge the gap in standard? Make no mistake flitney is signed as first choice goalie on a 2 yr contract with hawkes already identified as one for the future. Second, can we find someone to play alongside Kedwell (who will find no difference in standard at league 2 level). Rooney has provided glimpses of ability but just does not have the athleticism to play at this level and Stefan Payne has just lived up to his name. As a squad this lot look stronger than last season provided they are 40 games a season players which they need to be to deliver the goods with a small squad. We still have Oli and King occupying the treatment room until their contracts expire (not their fault I know but you do not win anything unless players stay fit). It looks to me that Gills are one striker short of a really competitive squad. With luck one or two of the apprentice pros may make the breakthrough to the first team as well.
dont think we need a back up left back with frampton, martin, jackman and king who can both play there. for me as hoadie says one maybe 2 more strikers, personally a quick mcdonald type, a number 1 goalkeeper who can fight with Flitney, maybe an older player with league experince (or brown ) to help him grow as well, a pacy winger bar that i think were set now unless there happens to be a good deal floating about defo put a smile back on my face and a tenner on us to get promoted
hearing rumors of 2 more signings early next week, no idea who tho. forgot to say earlier, really like the black kit, think the home kit would have been better with black stripes but thats a personal opinion
KSN(kent sports news) have said that andy hess has said that he still intends on making other new signings with another winger and a striker a must on his list!
Right I would say we don't need a back up LB then but yeah 1 or maybe 2 Strikers a Midfielder and First choice Keeper.
