Rickie's choice was already revealed, and you didn't guess on Huxford. That leaves 16 players you tried to predict, and you got 8 of them right. Not too shabby.

I was there. A great day out. One of the 'faces' got arrested. It might have been Jim Brown but I'm not sure. He was 'escorted' round the ground to great cheers from the Saints fans. I'm sure he had a sheepskin coat on as well.

I might have just made all that up!

Just bumping this so that it doesn't get missed.

For those who want to purchase Match of the Millennium, written by the club historians, it's available for £3.49, free post. I have it myself. Believe me, that's a steal.

No I remember that. East London was swamped with Saints fans that day.

I was also at Luton which I think was a couple of weeks earlier. 15,000 crowd, 10,000 from Southampton. Talk about swamped.

Seems to be ended on eBay. But only from today. Must have been a run on them. Missed it.

That was the only one. At £3.49 you had to move VERY fast. But here's another at the more realistic price of a tenner +postage. It's out of print, which I'm sure the seller knows. FYI, I copied the words Match of the Millennium, and added Southampton FC into ebay and came up with it:

Went to Luton as well....great win, great day.....Luton numbers were down because they went to Wembley to support one of their local non-league teams.

My own personal favourite Saints matches has to be the day we hammered Wolves 9-3 where I watched the match with my father (a Watford fan) from a sun-drenched Archers Road terrace. Others include the 0-0 draw against Bolton where Bally and Peter Reid snapped at each others heels for midfield dominance (in hindsight we were the more polished team on the day) in our 78-79 promotion season, and then much more recently when we beat Watford 4-0 early in the 2011-12 promotion season. Approaching the ground and then later at the match confirmed my belief that Saints were a Premiership club!!!!!! Surprised Laurie McMeneny didn't make a contribution as it would have been interesting to get a former manager's view on things.
