Please sign if you have a minute... NATIONAL PICTURE THEATRE The site containing the ruins of the National Picture Theatre in Kingston upon Hull is a Grade ll Listed Building. It was given listed status because it is a very rare survival of a WW2 blitzed ruin, being the only civilian example in the whole country. The National Civilian WW2 Memorial Trust would like to develop the site into a WW2 'Home Front Tribute' . The Trust have previously been granted planning permission and Listed Building Consent, and have recently resubmitted amended applications. Kingston upon Hull City Council served the current owner of the site with a Repairs Notice in December 2013, requesting that the ruins were put in good order. Unfortunately, the owner failed to carry out the required repairs by the February deadline, and he has still not carried out the necessary repairs. The Councilâs Cabinet have approved the serving of a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) to buy the site. However, the Councilâs Planning Committee will have the final say on the serving of the CPO at their Planning Committee Meeting on Tuesday 21st October. https://www.change.org/p/the-planni...nk&utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition
Tried to sign.....got a 'Computer says no'. says only 26 sigs needed, of which I am sure will be obtained.
When you first put the petition up, it automatically says you need 100 signatures, then as you hit each target, it jumps up the next one.
Soz made a mess posting in this box on this thread and I can't delete it was posting on another subject. Duh!

Signed - it has to be saved , this is a no brainer !!!! the council can put some of its errors right by making a CPO with our money . i
Well it's not very straightforward. HCC seems to be in a situation where its right hand doesn't appear to know what its left hand is doing: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-the-National-Picture-Theatre/289107927783454
I'd say that shows the system works. It's not uncommon for Councillors to go against the Officers opinions. There's an awful lot gone on with that application of you check out the history. https://www.hullcc.gov.uk/
