Just so some of you don't waste your time queuing on the phones - if you want to utilise the installment plan (with 50% upfront and three months of smaller installments), you are not able to do this over the phone but instead have to do it at the ticket office. Same said for purchasing a season ticket at a concession rate (i.e. student, OAP, young adult, junior), they're clamping down this year and want to see proof of DoB. You can still purchase your season ticket over the phone, but these types of ticket have to be collected from the ticket office not posted so that you can prove your DoB upon collection.
As I am writing this I am counting out the money now. I had a stall at a car boot sale last week and flogged a couple of things on eBay. I have dug under the mattress and pulled out a pile of old £10 notes and I have raided my piggy bank which is now empty. Mrs Godders is going to be a bit short on housekeeping this week as I have had to raid her purse to reach the total. I am setting off on foot shortly to St Mary's (I can't afford the fuel for the car now we are living under Cameron and Clegg and their Capitalist Cronies) so I might see you there. You'll easily recognise me as I am the scruffy old fella with a carrier bag full of cash. I hope they will accept all the pennies and five pence pieces I have saved. I was at the rally in Southampton yesterday supporting our brothers and sisters who are taking the fight for a decent wage and pension to the fascists who run our City and Country. What I find puzzling is that because people are saying private sector pensions are poor then public sector pensions should also be poor. It is a bit like when you see poor starving kids in Africa theTories and their capitalist cronies would say those kids are starving so lets make sure our kids starve as well. Thank God we don't do that because we have a sense of humanity and decency and what we say is it is wrong that children should starve lets try and make sure they all get food. The private sector deserve decent pensions as well. When the MPs have cut their pension entitlements to match those in the public sector I might start to believe that they are serious about the economy. When the politicians curtail the payment of ridiculous salaries and bonuses for bankers and financiers then I might start to believe them. As things are at the moment you would think that it was the poor working man and woman who caused the financial disaster.
The public sector pension is not being reduced. Employees will need to pay an extra 3.5% per year which is to be phased in over three years, have it based on average earnings (stop people jumping up the pecking order at the end of career for high pension) and work longer in line with the private sectoor (strating in 2020) and being phased in so not really effecting anyone over 45. All previous pension contributions is protected. This was a independent enquiry commisioned by the labour Government. Most worker in the puublic sector will finish with a pension and a lump sum betewwn £40,000 - 120K As for the financial sector who do you think pays the taxes for the public sector to work???? There is a balance to be found. I will be purchasing my season ticket with hard earned money that I have paid tax on.
People pay for their season tickets? The club always gives me mine free for being such a wonderful supporter.
Still awaiting my turn as matchday mascot. Can't understand why a 6'3" 17 stone skinhead who likes starting fires keeps getting overlooked.
Regarding junior season tickets or young adults and concessions for that matter when do you have to be of that age? My birthday is august after the new season has started does this mean I can get a junior once again?
I do a lot of work for Charity and could probably get you a swim with a couple of Dolphins up the Itchen if it would compensate being overlooked as a mascot?
Should think it's the age you are when you buy ticket so you should be ok. Anthing else would be too hard to police..where would you put the cutoff point.
That's it. I have blown all my life savings and more on two season tickets; one for me and one for the lovely Mrs Godders. At least we will be sure of getting tickets for cup games.
i went to renew my ticket earlier. instead of asking me if i was still a student and telling me that i had to pay adult prices, the woman serving me simply renewed my student ticket. RESULT!
i spend more than enough money there to make up for it and its not defrauding, its the bint behind the glass not doing her job properly.
Bint behind the glass! What sort of feminist talk is that? I have always been by surprised by hampshire sayings in particular calling everyone Nipper and then in the north of Hampshire they call everyone Mush which I have always thought was a slang term from Norman times when the locals couldn't get their tongues around Monsieur!
It took nearly 2 hours this morning for me to renew my S/T, so I had to pay an extra £2 for the car park. There was considerable confusion in the queue about the effective date for concessions, and when I got home I checked on the SFC website but I couldn't find there any specific guidance. One guy at the ticket booth got most upset as to whether or not his son qualified as a junior, and the young lady behind the glass certainly felt his wrath. I must say she handled the situation well, but surely "management" should think through all the ramifications of the policies they lay down before they throw their staff to the wolves!!
