Hmmmm - let's remember this is supposed to be about playing ability not popularity - Doyley is a lot of things but a great footballer he is not

Mine would be between Bardsley and Gibbs.... with Gibbs edging it, I think

Actually, he never made many runs as a RB, he was dreadfull there! He is only marginaly better at LB, but the goal was scored from that position, so he earns his status for that.

I would add Duncan Welbourne to the list - to add a bit of steel to the defence! He played both at 'right full-back' and also 'right half' (right sided midfield).

I would not however add Dave Butler to the list.

For the old'uns, Bobby McDicker Bell might be fondly remembered (if for his name alone)!

I think the idea of this thread is to look for glaring omissions before we go to the poll.

Before we see how close Doyley comes to winning it.

Why not, don't expect much though. You are one of the few of us who remembers John Stirk's season with us.

Yes - HE IS A DEFENDER though - he gives away goals on his non productive forward runs - ONE GOAL !!!!!

Doyley will win by a country mile for all the wrong reasons - I bet if any of you were really in the Managers position at Watford you would replace Doyley with someone who could actually defend

Surely if you want a one club legend there is only one man it can be...

    ...Nigel Gibbs. Sorry Lloyd.

Darren Bazeley came through the ranks at right wing then converted to right back.

Seconded. One of the best bargains ever £20,000 for a 29 year old - thank you Arsenal! And we got 5 good years out of him.
