    http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/newcastle-put-fourth-new-kit-season-sale/?

Newcastle United are to put their fourth new kit of the season on sale.

The latest kit with the season only two months old, will go on sale on Saturday 1st November.

new kitThe first team wore the shirt for the Real Sociedad ore-season friendly but are unlikely to be seen wearing it again in public.

With such poor sales of the other three kits, it does seem a bit strange as to why United are launching yet another one, unless the reasoning is that it is aimed at the people who still feel compelled to buy every new kit that appears.

A shame that Mike Ashley can’t do something a bit imaginative to dredge up at least some feelgood factor amongst fans, such as drop Wonga off the shirt and give the proceeds of the shirt sales to a local charity/charities.

Sadly the Newcastle owner fails to comprehend that doing something like this, while it wouldn’t make money for the club instantly, it would in the long-term as the positivity generated towards the club would equal cash eventually.

The shirt will cost £44.99 for adults (£34.99) for kids and only members of the club are allowed to buy this ‘exclusive’ shirt – fill your boots…

Christmas has come early then. Even if you include us in that (without even adding our kits).

If we make a kit for every point we get we'll end up withabout 15 kits

No different to last season where the fourth kit went on sale to Members only.
A 'Rare Collectors' Item for those that way inclined.

To be fair to Ashley, the three kits each season started way back with Shepherd and his money fleecing ways.

4 kits, and yet not one of them looks like it wasn't designed by a blind, isolated Tibetan monk who's never heard of Newcastle United, but likes burning mail sent to him from Puma as a protest.

Wasn't that because of CL football? Home, away and the European one? Can't help feeling what is happening now is cheap exploitation of the fans, that Ashley knows he can exploit.

I believe that's the case as well fella <ok>

What's happening now is ridiculous, although it was always leading to this, every team does it. However, how many ****ing versions of black and white striped shirts am I going to see before I die? Will they start making 2 home tops a year, one black with white stripes and another white with black stripes? It's beyond a joke. We've got a black triangle on our shirt now for no reason whatsoever, other than they can take it away next year and there's another shirt designed <doh>

Those blind, Isolated Tibetan Monks have a lot to answer for.

As punishment, they should be rounded up, put on a plane and brought over here to listen to what we have to go through with Pardew. Actually, that could be good idea, as they could discuss tactics with him and it would probably improve matters on the pitch. I'm sure Pardew would appreciate some help from those more experienced than himself.

What difference does it make what the reason is for having three kits,
It was exploitation by Shepherd just as much as it is by Ashley.

Not really mate as all clubs with European football started doing it, including the top 4 (of which Newcastle was one) and the likes of Spurs etc in UEFA Cup at the time. If you bought the European one, you knew why you were buying it. One can argue there was a reason for it when Shepherd did it.

Now there is absolutely no reason or justification. I don't even know what's happened to the first three kits? I take it at least two are not being worn anymore? Otherwise literally wtf is the point?

One can argue as much they want, but Shepherd did it for one reason alone - money in his pocket.

This seasons three kits are straightforward enough.

    1. Home Kit - Black and White sort of blocks with Wonga stuck in the middle of it. Worn every home game.
    2. Second Kit - A fairly unassuming grey kit, not really coveted by the average fashionista. Worn when there is a clash of colours.
    3. Third Kit - A Blue/Green affair, again not up there in the fashion stakes. Worn when Pardew is looking for an excuse after another defeat or when the 2nd kit is still in the wash.

Seriously, very few people are seen in the Grey Kit, never mind the Blue/Green, so its not as if, there selling like hot cakes as they're not.

True, but every club does every bit of merchandising (including kits) for money in their pockets. Football is a business these days.

Haven't bought a top in 7 years...and even then it was for my 3 year old at the time. My favourite top is now 11 years old.

I don't buy anything from Ashley although I do buy my top each year. I get them in Bulgaria for ½ the price and the quality is excellent.
