I have been waiting for my report fix on this match since Saturday evening and there has hardly been a mention of the match let alone a report. I'm concerned Essex will desert us and go elsewhere if these reports aren't forthcoming. Did anybody go? Does anyone think it was a good result, mediocre result, poor result? This Board is going to end up like Exeter's ghost site if it carries on like this. I see on the Beeb football site that the Tranmere manager is worried about his position following this match and his side hitting bottom. Is the manager's curse of playing Argyle and losing your job about to resume like it was a few seasons ago.
Tranmere do seem to be in a hole at present......but we tried to give them a chance in the second half by dropping back into defence. Sheridan got quite excited about the win....although concerned about the second half performance.......one goal from Reid.....could of easily come unstuck.....why are there so few scorers in this team. Everyone thinks that Carlisle will be 3pts next Saturday.....but they have won three games on the trot and are moving up the league....just our luck to get them playing hot.
I see Reid was arrested on saturday night for fighting on the barbican? is there any info on what happened
He has indeed now been sacked and the curse of Argyle rears it's head again. We play Carlisle next........(cue Jaws music)
"Top at Christmas"...is that a fairy story Joe..(boom boom). I have to be honest and say that I have seen little this season so far to suggest we should be 6th right now let alone any higher. I think that is a reflection on this league rather than Argyle being much cop. After the time we have had a little bit of success would not do us any harm no matter how we get it. Everyone says about getting out of this league yet we all do a bit of a moan about the football spectacle being poor. I've come to the conclusion that I would sit through an entire season of absolute and utter rubbish if the results went the right way. Some people might say I already do sit through that so the only difference would be the results going the right way. But, you know what I mean. We have shown glimpses of being a decent side but everytime I think we have turned a corner we let it all slide once more. A decent sort of run of results, the right ones of course, would do wonders for both the players and us. A bit of a run in a cup competition as a bonus would also be good.
Fear not sensible, I'm a patient man. I had to make do with mediocre match reports from the evening harold and pasoti. I guess I'll have to live with that for away matches and look forward to the magnificent offerings from lyndhurstgreen(and yourself) for our home victories! Things seem to be shaping up and according to reports I've read the defensive side of the team is well organised and hard to break down. A win on Saturday against in form Carlisle and maybe just maybe this could finally be our year to start climbing back up the pyramid.
I didn't want to see you leave so soon after just arriving Essex. Glad to hear you are patient, a lot of that is needed on here at times and definately needed if you follow the Argyle. I read the bit about the defence in the local rag and have to say it looked good. They have been more solid this season from the matches I've seen at home and a lot to do with that is Hartley who has impressed since he arrived. No settling in for him he just took up the job running. I think he is good for Nelson as well who has sometimes looked a bit lethargic and lazy. Looked much better this season with Hartley alongside. As said previously we have shown we can be a decent side but have not kept a run going which you really need if you are going to get out of this league. We "should" beat Carlisle but I've not got a load of faith yet even if I still live in hope and want to believe.
