Maybe history will repeat itself. Nico's dad won the title in 1982 with just one win with five drivers winning two. It was Keke's consistency (and Didier Pironi's injury) that won him the title. However, a potential 5-11 score line is quite a drubbing but could render meaningless.
Of course it could go the other way if Hamilton has a dnf in one of the next 2 races and needs the 14 points to win the title. Otherwise, I also hate the double points idea. Rosberg is better than I had given him credit for but Hamilton has earned the title more imo.
It still has potential to be a stinker whichever way the championship falls, depending on what happens in the next two races.
Rosberg is rattled. Ted Kravitz made a good point in his qualy notebook that when Roseberg is under pressure he acts all ott with praise for everything and gets all dramatic. Now we're starting to see rash moves at the start of races, in Japan he overdefended from Hamilton etc etc.
Double points has been argued to death in the past, I just hope they cause enough acrimony that they're ditched for 2015. The last thing we want is a race where the driver leading going into Abu Dhabi wins the championship by a narrow margin, as Bernie'll just use the fact it "kept things interesting" to justify continuing with it. I'd quite like a driver to be 49 points ahead and get robbed by unreliability, so Bernie has no option but to ditch it.
It would be the funniest thing ever tbh. I haven't got any issues with Hamilton, however i tend to loathe his fanboys*, so watching them in a mad rage would be heaven for me. *By fanboys i mean those who fail to aknowledge that there have been numerous drivers better than him throughout the years, and that Alonso is currently better than him. He does have good sensible fans, but it's the younger ones with limited knowledge who really grind my gears.
Honesty is the best policy... If you favour a particular driver you go for that driver... It makes no sense pretending you are neutral when in your heart you prefer another driver. Anyway that's how it is..freedom of expression and calling people names because they favour one over that other is stupid.. But as I said I believe in Freedom of expression....for all! We are all fanboys in one way or another unless you are a total hypocrite. I love racing and I am a fan of racing. Oh and if they grind your gears just a don't give them your car to drive. Then your wouldnt have to worry too much.
I'm being honest, again, i have no quarrell with Hamilton, he's an excellent driver, it's his dimmer fans. The only drivers in F1 I've actively disliked in the past few years have been Paul Di Resta (incapable of taking blame) and Max Chilton (untalented hack).
I think that's a little unfair, i don't think he's good enough for F1 but at the same time hasn't looked so far out of his depth either. There's no doubt he is keeping more talented drivers off the grid etc but i'd say there are much worse in recent-ish times. Karthikeyan springs to mind, only made the gird purely as a marketing exercise IMO. Hell, i'd even go as far as saying Gutierrez is possibly worse, he's at least had a car capable of consistent points scoring yet only managed to do so once, and even then managed only 1 point, while his team-mate managed 56 points and 10 points finishes in that same year. He has also proven prone to accidents when the pressure is on and he has fluked a chance of getting points. Up until a few races back i'd have said Ericsson was worse as well but very much to his credit, he has stepped it up big style and looked very impressive the past few races and beaten a very good driver in Kobayashi.
As much as it would pain me if Hamilton was the one to lose out on the title... I would still have to have a chuckle at the utter farce it would make the whole idea out to be. I hope I'm wrong, but it almost seems that it's just bound to happen. If it does, one can only hope that it gets Bernie the boot.
I take your word.... I don't have any quarrel with any driver.. Just I might like the driving style and never say die style of some drivers even when the car isn't as good as it should be. Hamilton Ricciardo and Alonzo come to mind.. I like their style of racing. Grosjean is also a very talented driver, I am so sorry for him this year. Last year he was the only one keeping up with Vettel when he was destroying the field. Bottas is also coming along good too. Kimi I think doesn't show too much interest some how.. He gives the impression that as soon as the race if finished he doesn't give a damn until next race... That's my impression. I can't say that's what he is like. To me he just doesn't work hard enough and maybe he doesn't have the drive for it anymore I don't know. Vettel is four time world champion but.... Well I will reserve my judgement on him until next year.... Hope he doesn't go to mcLaren and gets beaten by the rookie there. But he still has a question mark. By the way I think Di Resta is a good driver, but he used to blame everybody except himself when he made mistakes. If he hit a wall he would say the wall came out of nowhere.
I do seem to remember him crashing at Suzuka in either practice or qualifying after he ran onto the grass just as he hit the brakes for spoon, the clearest driver error you will ever see, only for him to return and face the tv cameras and (at first) refuse to admit blame, I think he ended up having the audacity to try and blame the grass for being there to begin with I then seem to remember he came out later on looking a bit sheepish (probably having seen it on tv) and admitting it was his mistake. About the only time he ever admitted a mistake.
I guess I must be a fanboy. At this moment in time, I'd say Hamilton may be the best driver currently on the grid, or is certainly driving better than anyone else, if there is a difference (class is permanent, form is temporary etc etc) Okay, he has by far the best car on the grid, but the way he has used it has been so much better than his teammate. Has actually showed some real intelligent driving this year, both when chasing Rosberg down and when he has been in the lead. I think he has actually learnt how to win a race without being a kamikaze pilot, has been very Prost-esque recently in only driving as fast as he needs to go to win the race. Alonso in my view has had his better years already. Ferrari has dragged him down and he just looks fed up.
So.. 3 more to go and its getting to closing timeHamilton leads by 17. - All he needs is 1 more victory and he can coast in 2nd in the remaining races - Rosberg now needs to win Abu Dhabi and another to stand a chance. Hamilton In The Records: - Hamilton needs 1 more victory to become the most sucessful british race winner - He cant match the most wins in a season that stands at 13 (Schumacher + Vettel) Here is a comparison to senna (as he likes this)

[TH="class: msr_col1, align: center"]Rank[/TH] Driver Races 1st 2nd 3rd Podiums Poles FL Points

[TH="class: msr_col1, align: center"]4[/TH] please log in to view this image Lewis Hamilton 145 31 18 18 67 38 16 1393

[TH="class: msr_col1, align: center"]12[/TH] please log in to view this image Ayrton Senna 161 41 23 16 80 65 19 614

[TH="class: msr_col1, align: center"]9[/TH] please log in to view this image Nico Rosberg 16 7 12 5 24 12 10 844.5

I think the big one is going to be Brazil... Hamilton needs to banish the memories of his other bogey track the way he did in Suzuka. I don't believe Rosberg is "losing it" as much as people say. When he was dialled in on the harder tyres yesterday he was pretty quick - though it should be noted that Hamilton was consistently quicker once his own tyres were up to speed. However, his move at turn 2 was extremely rash and his racecraft has been a consistent weakness this year.
If Hamilton wins in both USA and Brazil and Rosberg comes second in one and a DNF in the other, Hamilton would go into the final race with a 49 point lead. A DNF for Hamilton and a Rosberg win would see Rosberg win the title by 1 point thanks to double points. =X
