Not yet known, but it looks like the international rights are going to jump again and BT are challenging Sky for more games, it's expected that the new deal will increase club revenue by another 50%.

I agree to us selling our soul to SKY. I am to blame for this though as I subscribe.
I also blame ALLAM for fleecing us even more by charging £50 and £35 for match day tickets. I refuse to pay those prices.
Will it all come crashing down...I have no idea. What I do know is average Joe is being priced out of going to games and eventually will watch via the telly.
I have 4 friends who are big city fans that have now said "enough is enough". These same fans were at the Torquays + Kidderministers of this world.

    Greed prevails sadly

    Blimey.

    Thanks for the info.

Is that what's called 'throwing money at it'?

It's getting like Monopoly money, it's also the reason I think AA is going nowhere, not unless he can find a buyer who'll pay a price based on the anticipated new level of revenue.

I never believed much of what Duffen said but i think his one truism was i was just a funnel for the Sky money straight to the players with nowt going into the club. Seems to be the same everywhere.

As an aside if fans paying on the gate is 70-90% of your business in the lower leagues why didnt Adam Pearson ever do anything with the youth set up as we had cracking gates right from the off at the KC?

The money we've just invested in moving the academy and recruiting better people would have cost AP 25-30% of our total income, at that level fans want to see the money invested in the first team, not the academy.

Funny, my reply to BCB seems to have disappeared. Presumably because it was "political". Maybe whoever removed could explain if this is the latest example of double standards or a reflection of their own political views?

    I'm
How is charging £35 fleecing fans? That is not out of line with many clubs and less than a lot of them. £50 is indeed a lot but it does mean we can charge away fans what we get charged and has the added bonus of screwing the obnoxious people turning up to see the opposition with their equally obnoxious offspring. Harsh on our fans but if it keeps away those idiots who greet the other team off the bus, clap them and spend their time taking pictures of the big names they have no connection with that is a good thing.

The Problem is, the clubs we're charging £50 aren't actually charging us that much, Arsenal is £26, Liverpool is £41 and even the £35 tickets are what the mid table clubs are charging, it's a piss-take. I'm giving Burnley a swerve for the stupid prices they're charging, I expect many will do the same with us.

    £35 for 90 minutes = £23.33 per hour. Gross that up to a annual wage = £23.33 x 37.5 hrs a week x 52 weeks = £45,500 and that is before tax.

In my world, I don't know too many people earning that sort of money.
Hence, why it is fleecing the average Joe!

    That makes no sense.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your sentiment, I'm just saying your calculations are illogical.

I am basing my figures on how much it costs in relation to earnings. ie work 1 hour to watching 1 hour of football
So, using my numbers, you have to earn an annual salary of £45,000 (after tax) to equate 1 hour working to 1 hour watching football.
