Mercedes have a better downforce package than Williams so I was doubting he would pick up pole due to final sector being a bit twistier. On the other hand it would have been nice to see him split the Mercedes. He's on the clean side of the track though so it will be interesting first corner.
If Bottas gets a flying start, I'd be tempted to not fight him too hard if I were Hamilton. Just needs to out-score Rosberg again and not risk any kind of incident.
Yeah, Bottas came out afterwards and said he reckoned it cost him a place at most, and pole was out of reach.
Here's the full GP2 race, unfortunately with German (I think) commentary: The video shouldn't start at the beginning, but at some spectacularly bad defending on the safety car restart. Defender clearly hasn't heard of the one move rule.
Well some of that was like Wacky Races... Hopefully it'll be a bit more organized (barring Super Maldonado) tomorrow. One thing that is evident is that a safety car is very likely to crop up given the nature of the track.. and the inevitable and understandable nervousness of the race direction. Hopefully it's a good race tomorrow, but I'm really not sold on this track at all. Too much tarmac run-off, lot's of catch fencing, no elevation and the stands way back from the track itself. Really hoping the race changes my opinion of it though.
I agree totally...but I think Rosberg might try a desperate move that might end up in tears for somebody. Remember he said it's all or nothing from now on...so don't miss the start..lol
I'm hoping everyone finishes and it's a cracking race. Do I get snacks and some beer for the race? Haha
Really irritating that the race starts an hour earlier than most, it means it's at *just* the wrong time to get brunch beforehand. GOD DAMN IT BERNIE WHY DO YOU NEVER THINK OF YOUR VIEWERS' CONCERNS
Sky Sports F1 is what it is called. Personally I think they have upped their game this year, the behind the scenes and technical stuff is far better than listening to Suzi and Eddie wittering on. I just find Jordan (both Eddie and the fat slapper one) annoying and patronising these days.
They've just done a Hill/Prost interview about the Mercedes team rivalry. Think they slipped in a Hamilton reference in there. We're okay.
