Back to football,l Am sorry to say that safc IMO is behind in a big way for players ready to be introduced into the big team as such ,having watched as an interested supporter lots of other clubs progress ie youth /reserves ,without a doubt the future is almost going to be governed by keeping a steady flow of players through the ranks as we know it . norwich vs spurs under 21s on sky tuesday night might be a indication of how we are progressing
Agree with the talent is, talent no matter what level. If you've got the goalscoring knack you'll take them at whatever level, that's why short-term wise I can't understand Jordan Rhodes not getting a shot at the big-time. Only trouble with Noble coming up and getting a go, I can't see where he's going to get regular footy unless he either goes on loan or moves on,hopefully we can develop him and he does the business
Three year old thread mate. I think you will find Noble is a short step away from a pub team near you.
Wasn't the lads dad an utter ****ing dickhead, making demands on Bally and the club and getting the lads head ****ed? Then there was him saying 'I don't care if I play or not I still get 20 grand a month'. Whilst drinking. On a week night. That happened by the way, as the lad he said it to works at our place. I have to say, people have said a 'natural goalscorer' will score at any level. Well, that IS true, but people get referred to way too easily as 'natural goalscorers'. So he scored a few goals in the ressies etc, a natural goalscorer plays off pure instinct, learns the patterns of his defender and opposes his runs etc. Noble went on loan to several league clubs, and he certainly was not a natural goalscorer. He was not a goalscorer of any description. He was a lad quicker than the kids around him which afforded him time on the ball, the step up to the big boys was way too big hence he is on the scrapheap without a whimper in his early 20's. People blamed the lads size. Bullshit. He is 6ft tall. He simply couldn't be arsed to do gym work to build his strenghth cos he thought he'd cracked it.
I just watched the Man Utd doc on the class of 92 or whatever they were called and the thing that rang true throughout the whole thing was that all those lads worked their socks off. Anytime they looked like they might go off the rails Fergie was straight round to their houses to sort them out. They bounced off each other if Gary Neville was staying late after training all the others thought they should stay after training. The culture there was hard work brings success. We want people like that at our club, Bally is the perfect man for the job and I am glad he is weeding out players like Nobel who cannot be bothered.
Caught that programme as well, possibly underlying everything was that they were all scared one was get on ahead of the other and in the spirit of healthy competition they played for each other as well as themselves. Loved the tale of them all gathering for a night out and Fergie found out and was round there like parents used to be and they all scattered or hid. It only took once for them to learn.
Think that was Liam Noble GG, currently playing for Notts County. He was a Geordie and slagged us off every opportunity when he was at Carlisle.
No mate, Liam was a different case, you are right he slagged us off to bits and though he was good enough for first XI, wasn't he a proper mag and that. We released him cos he was **** though, not cos of attitude and mentality issues.
You're correct it was ryan, he's affectionately known in smb as "hell on" after his dad started a thread saying there would be "hell on" if he didnt start for the first team after his latest hatrick
Without doubt he used to come in the branch spouting the same ****e, you'd think his son was messi, we just used to humour him
