    Happy birthday Rodney!

Not too many have done more for QPR than Rodney.

I remember Bushman telling me about an FA Cup match against Charlton at the Valley where we were 2 goals down before Rodney took the game by the scruff of its neck. Apparently even the Charlton supporters were joining in the chants of Rod-neee, Rod-neee before the end of the match.

You'd have to go a long way to see a better hat-trick than that, many happy returns Rod-nee...

Happy 70th Rodney - my Dad took me to see see him play at Bournemouth & Boscombe for the first time Sat 15 Oct 1966, we won 3-1, Rodney scored - so he was 22 that day, myself a totally mesmerized 12 yr old.

Never saw him play in the Hoops, but his influence in defining what type of team we were lingered long after he was gone, made the QPR number 10 the iconic shirt that it is.

Just wish I could remember who has it this season....

Rodney was the catalyst that transformed QPR into a fashionable club in 1966-1967 and I feel privileged to have seen it and will never forget the magic..
most talented player to ever wear the hooped shirt imo..

I also had the privilege of seeing Rodney in the 1966, but think that Stan was a better all round player.

Happy birthday to the man that got me hooked on the R's in the first place. He has an awful lot to answer for!

For me the greatest player ever for QPR, he got the ball rolling, literally. We maybe a sad bunch just now, but without Rodney we would still be hacking in Div 3

I loved Rodney as a young lad. He was my idol. I was devastated when he left, I couldn't believe it.
Happy birthday Rod, and thanks for the memories.
