Hate these "international" breaks in the season. There are few enough games in the Premiere League anyway! I wonder what the standard would be like if EPL teams had to play as many games as we used to in the Championship? I bet that would even things out between the top and bottom teams a bit!
Well when it's a choice between the Championship and the Conference, the Championship sounds pretty good!
This does work. Whilst being through and through Leicester, having just finished at uni in Sheffield, my mrs being from there (she actually has the surname Blades) and many mates who support them, I also 'follow' Sheffield United. I go watch from time to time when we aren't playing and look for their scores and it does help during international breaks. Guess you may have meant even lower than that though
Brisbane Roar Opening game yesterday of the A-league. Lost 2-1 to Adelaide but was a decent day out. Average crowds of 20K, which for a crap standard is ok. Champions 3 out of last 4 seasons. Whats not to like Shame about our kit though !! At least we get to play against Heskey & Del Piero.... EDIT Quality stadium thogh..easily good enough for the prem with 50k capacity. Google Suncorp Brisbane for pics http://www.suncorpstadium.com.au/ http://www.brookfieldmultiplex.com/.../public/completed/suncorp_stadium_milton_qld/
Genuinely can't stand the A-League personally. I was there yesterday and while it was competitive, the quality is just so poor. First time I have been in years and probably last time I'll go for a few more as well. Having said that, it is slowly improving.
In all seriousness I wouldn't mind following a the A-League but can't find it on anywhere here. Was looking into the new Indian League - mate said it is on TV and the standard is around League 1 level. Iain Hume is playing for the Kerala Blasters so despite the awful name that was probably picked by the Hull owner, I was thinking about following them.
Haha I know. It was good last season as when we went out the FA cup at the 3rd round to concentrate on promotion I got to enjoy promotion with us but also got a day out a Wembley with my mates in the FA cup semi so got best of both. They're shocking though, so glad to be a fox at the minute
Where are you guys then? I dont follow it much to be honest but there wa no Prem this week and it was the opening game so seem like a fun thing to do. Gotta say that you cannot beat going to footbal in shorts and flip-flops (thongs) Add to that the fact you can drink beer in the seats, makes or a good day out. Kids love it as its safe and rarely ever any trouble inside or outside the ground. The standard is pretty crap but hey, im used to watching QPR so its no change for me Anyway, if you are over here and chose to go again, let me know. Mor than welcome to come with us. We had Forrest, Chelsea, Arsenal & a Burnley fan all in our group. Meet in the Paddo for a few beers first then go. Open invite guys.
I literally just moved in closer as I was out west, now only about 10 mins from the Suncorp. I'll keep the offer in mind for future, can't say I don't enjoy a few beers at the paddo
I just moved out to Coorparoo from the Gabba. Still only 15 mins away but the others were from Red Hil etc. Give us a shout mate. The more the merrier. PS. This G20 thing is getting abit of a pain but at least it makes Nov 14th a Bank Hol for us. Great time of year for it
I'm studying at Sheffield too, get nice cheap tickets to the Blades so they're my second team too. Been to Wednesday a few times too, they're doing alright this year!
