    Northern Soul never completely went away and it's great to see a renaissance amongst the younger generation, even though some miserable old buggers from the 'original' Northern Soul days bemoan the fact that the young ones don't dance in quite the same way. It really doesn't matter - just enjoy the fantastic music. How stupid were Wigan council to pull down the building? Imagine what a 'mecca' it would be today for both old and new fans? Expect more people to get in to it with the new film release.

    s & d & r&r & football...all that counts...I'd also say we've always been several centuries ahead of the US..the mad doc needs to reign in a bit & get a product first imo...Bruce & the lads are working on it...give it time I say

    i dont live in canada anymore but am still canadian...the usa always tops in marketing if memory serves me right...the New York `Redbulls` thin end of the wedge of whats to come i fear...like or loathe.

    We may be on different pages here Hesford's...I live in Canada....but still English (Hull born & bred). Thought your (I could be being paranoid maybe) Snooker Loopy post was sarcastically commenting on my music links posts...if so it was amusing. Just didn't see your post otherwise as having any connection to a thread on music. If not, apologies for misinterpreting. Where marketing came into the subject matter on this thread beats me. I may well have missed something subtle in your previous posts on this thread ?
    Mayall by the way is one of my hero's...saw him in Toronto about 4 years ago..still brilliant....we go back 50 years from when I first saw the Bluesbreakers n Leeds.

    Lol no...just an old snooker song cos play in team and been out tonight with em all...born in b.c but lived Hull nearly all life.mate on fb from croatia got me onto john mayall....brilliant music..love that hes known for being good..i think hes fab!...gone off topic from original northern soul topic cos am simply hammered and need bed soon...good night tigerscanada in all the best ways my friend :) x

    As the Canucks say - no sweat...look into Mayall's history if you already haven't - he and Alexis Korner & Graham Bond spawned some of the best British musicians that ever lived.

    The bloke who ran Wigan Casino is staging soul nights again, he was responsible for the recent one at Brid Spa, there's also been some big soul weekenders staged at Skeggy Butlins recently.

    We seemed to have strayed a fair way from Northern Soul, I'm not on my computer so can't upload clips, but Tainted Love by Gloria Jones should be on here.
