It seems dyke is admitting defeat on the idea of a liverpool b team in the football league

Of course a few other lesser sides like Manchester city or Surrey utd would be also affected but we all know it's all about gerrez, sorry lfc

    So thoughts?

Good or bad of English football?

For me without the ability to control the massive tv money washing the prem those b sides would prob be 50% plus foreign lads anyway

I still think it'd be good though

    This^

I'm against the idea because the big clubs have too much power as it is.
It's like Tory political policies transferred to football- the rich get richer and the poor get shat on.

Well we have a more egalitarian league than others in terms of cash which is why dodgy bartards come to snap up clubs thinking on prem year = payday

I think if you get 5k boost in crowd playing lfc b then surely it is of some benefit to lower league

The real issue IMO is when you look at what Southampton did in league 1 to be a player developing club etc etc and see the reaped rewards you wonder why the f all clubs aren't doing it

If Liverpool B plays in "League 1"- then we knock a team down to League 2 and a team out of the Blue Square National Conference, and so on all the way down the pyramid. Each level down the pyramid you go the harder it is to make money.

If 8 teams join League 1- that's 8 teams kicked down to League 2. Plus 8 teams kicked out of the league. 8 teams kicked out of the Blue Square. Probably be 70 or 80 teams impacted in all to make room for Premier League b teams.

This "trickle down" theory is how the rich and powerful justify their money grabbing activities. Might look good on paper but in reality the wealth gap just keeps getting bigger.

Football is only a microcosm of the broader society.

But if lFC get to league 1 it's by merit. All teams entering the league do so by merit and grow. Now if you look at how many teams are in the league who basically when you were a lad were not what u see is they are just better than the league 2 that they come into

I acknowledge the thought but in reality the rot exists some
