Thanks guys, you made me laugh If I fix that Acer I will get you suitably aroused with all the techie words I use. EDIT: BTW, while I was fixing the Sony, I was playing part of my XTC collection. Notably, Mummer, English Settlement and Black Sea. At the moment I've got Paper and Iron up fairly loud. The grin on my face is fairly impressive. Sadly this Youtube mp3 hasn't anything like the punch that the analogue vinyl has. But there you go. Old technology does rule occasionally.
http://www.itv.com/england-football...a-to-sack-gary-neville-and-employ-him-instead Sol Campbell is mad, he wants the FA to sack Neville and appoint him as coach instead.
That smacks of absolute arrogance! If it is in anyway linked to the recent 'lack of black managers' campaign, I'll be embarrassed for him.
Arrogance or confidence? Without hearing the tone of his voice, difficult to judge. As for his view that black players don't get a chance in management/coaching, he may be right and feel he should speak out, but it won't improve his chances of getting on...though may help someone else. No one wants to employ someone they regard as trouble (even if they have a point). Sadly in life, you have to play the system.
Odd coincidence. I was only talking about this episode yesterday when suggesting to my wife that she might want to listen to the book. I heard it the other week - I listen to audiobooks while I work. I was deeply moved by the depth of his love for her. By the way the rest of the book is excellent as well. Vin
Apart from kids books, I haven't 'listened' to any books. I've always been put off slightly by the thought that someone else doing the voice, takes away the control that my imagination has to 'hear' the characters in my head as I see them.... do you find this at all Vin, while 'listening' to nooks?
With Keane, KP and Ferdinand launching new books, I'll be skipping passed those to get a copy of this one: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jimmy-case-beating-lot-manchester-4408175 For sentimental reasons obviously, but what the heck. What a player.
Feel mean now...Hendrie has been talking about mental health issues and how he tried to commit suicide when his career ended. Bad money advice apparently. Has said that youngsters get more help now than in his day.
A 17 year old has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize - it's the Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban for campaigning for girls' education. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-29564935
Good that an ordinary person who has stood up and been counted got it. Female education is so important if the third world is to make any progress...it has been shown to have a greater effect on prosperity, health and infant survival in the poorest regions than male education. (Not that I'm not for male education as well, of course ).
