Will be an interesting game as we'll see a few players who don't play regularly together. With the injuries we have, not much debate about who plays, unless Arteta is fit (I think he's the first scheduled back). Still, we should have enough quality. I'm also interested to see how the team performs without Ozil. It might be better or worse, who knows.
Is Chambers suspended for this game ? I think his (harsh) yellow against the chavs rules him out ? If so it will be good to see Bellerin in this game. I rate him highly and I think he's done really well in the games he's played in (although the team performances weren't good) particularly against Dortmund where we were poor overall, he was one of the positives from that night.
I'm also looking forward to seeing that front three with Cazorla sitting behind them pulling the strings. I thought Santi did really well against the Chavs and was unlucky to get subbed. As much as we all want Ozil to shine, he's not been anywhere near his best and he's been getting some stick, so maybe an enforced break will enable Cazorla to flourish in that position.
Hopefully we get the result done early so Theo can get 10 worry free minutes in. Then hopefully the same at Anderlecht with Theo getting more game time. Also Gnabry is back too. I actually rate him more than Campbell tbh and IMO Wenger does too but he'll probably get exposure with the reserves.
Looking foward to seeing Walcott come back for us. Just imagine us fielding an all-english front three of Welbeck, Walcott and OXO. Funny how times have changed and that we have more England players playing for us than any other EPL team! I bet Cym is happy....
It's probably the first time we've done it since Wright Smith, Parlour and Merson! (unless there was a time when Jeffers and Wright played together - but the less said about that the better...)
I think it's going to be a pretty high scoring game, Mertesacker and Bellerin is a disaster waiting to happen but providing we still have some fit forwards, we should have too much firepower for them.
Has become an early season must win game for us really after the last two results. Losing to Chelsea wasn't unexpected, but to be honest not beating the Spuds at home was probably even worse. Had we beaten them, then at least we'd have got 3 points in 6. As it is 1 from 6 is poor form.
Normally I'd be happy enough to get the derby out of the way without losing but I don't think this is a great spuds team and it leaves us in a pretty s**t position
Hull have made some impressive signings of late - Diame, Hernandez, Ben Arfa. I'm a little concerned about this game to be honest.
They are improving impressively and have got a good midfield/wide men, but I'm hopeful that if we can field both Merts and Kos then we should cope, and hopefully get some form from our midfielders to create and take the chances that our possession justifies.
Great to see Theo back in full training this week, we've really missed him. Reports that he might be involved in the game with Hull at the weekend
highly unlikely imo opinion that he'll start, even though he has to be back to full fitness by now. he'll be in no way match ready. impact sub if we need one, or 10 minute cameo at the end is what i see. I'd love us to play 2 pacey wingers, but recently when Oxo has played he'll drop very deep and keep his passing neat and tidy. When he does make forward runs, they are explosive, but he hasn't done enough for me so far.
