I agree Bear, but I think this will tell us just how much of a work in progress he is :)

I guess after the twitter storm, when he poked fun at United :D! I think Balotelli is the convenient scape goat, it is so easy to jump on the bandwagon......

Balotelli could be a brilliant player, but for the last 3-4 seasons his petulance and laziness has been the bigger factor. He might still make it at the top level, but he would need a complete character change to turn it around in my opinion. I think this season we'll see him score a few great goals and people will say he top class, but I think it will be in flashes only.

So Welbeck did absolutely f*ck all today, so he's truly adopting the Arsenal mentality of being useless against big sides.

I thought he worked hard, got around the pitch and kept making runs, but often couldn't find the space he wanted and didn't create anything for himself. A fairly in the middle performance. Not great, not poor, somewhere between.

    He moved. Balotelli didnt.

Neither scored so what else they did matters. Balotelli did literally nothing.

If you get dropped for Lambert, then you really need to look at yourself in the mirror. He is such a dumbass, all that talent but he's such an immature twat.

Balotelli and his career, reminds me of Anelka. Wasted talent. I hear both are pretty decent blokes off the pitch, but on the pitch both let down by a piss poor attitude.

Balotelli is hopeless. Anelka had a lot of talent and in the early part of his career he fulfilled much of it. Balotell is hopeless. I think I said that already but it's worth repeating.

Get used to it. He'll work his nuts off for the team but he will rarely do it against top class opposition. He needs to work alongside a finisher. I'm gutted he's not playing up front alongside Falcao for United. We should have given RVP back to you instead.

If you built a wall just 1x1x6 foot (w*d*h) and stuck it 14 yards from goal it would achieve almost identical stats to balotelli. Movement, shots, asstists and goals, some which would even start a 'is the wall world class' debates.

    Thats all he is.

I'm not a Balotelli fan and was disappointed when we signed him, nothing since has changed my mind.

    That would be my concern.

Maybe Balotelli will work out, maybe not. Only time will tell.

For my money, I'd say Welbeck was by far the better signing. Certainly on current form. Perhaps that will change later in the season, but it's not looking likely. <doh>

Balo is actually doing well enough at tracking back and pressing if you watch our games.

Problem is he's the furthest forward with Sturridge out, being asked to hold up play (which he's been doing well too) - but he's trying to get used to new teammates (which most of them are doing too!) in a team devoid of confidence... He's not going to set the world alight is he?

But he really does need to stop shooting in every possible situation...

Perspective everyone... Let's see what he's like after ten games with Sturridge.

Not really pal, it's not a universal trait.

The point (which is clear as day) is that he's holding up play well but has no runners to link with. He is better with a partner.
