Only the froggies would have a language so stupid that actual words have gender. Why complicate it? Kick her in the **** and be done, that's how proper linguists do it.

 

Around a quarter of the world's languages split their nouns into different genders - including the 2 most closely related to English (Dutch and German).

 

I didny know that. Clearly am not a cunning linguist.

 

As far as I know, though, the French are the only ones to have an Academy that decides whether new words should be accepted as French or designated as masculine or feminine.

It's on the Seine - cannae mind the name of it.
