It's worth more than £50m, with the money in the game now, any Premier League club is worth more than that.

As has been mentioned, Villa were looking for £200m and Fulham went for more than £200m, I'd expect any Premier League club to be worth at least £70-80m nowadays, more if they own their ground, which in our case could probably be sorted relatively easily for £15-20m.

I think Allam would be the owner of it by now if it where for sale for £15 million.
Has a tax payer I wouldn't be happy for him to have it for that price.
That money would be squandered pretty quick by this regime

It's about the going rate for a stadium, Leicester recently bought theirs for £17m and it has a capacity of 32,500.

It's £20m and it's a full sale, not a 50% stake, it's also a slightly different situation, as the Ricoh has other businesses based on the site that generate a rental income.

The little bastards have spent the summer in my garden, following me to various pubs and picnic site, so if The Messiah sees fit to send them all to Coventry that is just fine and dandy by me. <cheers>

Didn't City get £67m from the FA for finishing in the premier league last season?

The money comes from the Premier League, rather than the FA and £67m is the minimum you get for being in the Premier League now, we actually got a more than that due to where we finished. We also got a decent dollop of money from the FA for reaching the FA Cup final, I'd expect total revenue last year to be around £85m.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you do come on here expressing opinions on players, saying so and so is a good player/OK/not so good. None of these players would even be playing for City but for the debt backed by Allam. Shouldn't you just hunker down and drop any interest until the happy day when City go bust and you can can support the reconstituted team at the the bottom of the pyramid structure? That would show more consistency in your outlook.

The club was heading for ceasing to trade before Allam stepped in. After collapsing a new club would no doubt have been formed but it would have gone to the bottom of the pyramid. Let's face it the new club wouldn't have come up 8 divisions in three or four years.

I am gonna wait for the accounts to be published before I state that AA has run this club into the ground.
it is a very childish assumption, to state that he has, mind you that is what I expect from CTWD.

Assem Allam hasn't run the club into the ground. He has built a decent Premier League team and started sorting out our youth facilities. However he has done that by lending the club millions, somewhere approaching £80 million according to media reports, and that money has to be repaid some time. The condition we are in after its repaid, converted into shares or written off, will determine his, or maybe his family's, legacy.

I can see him building his own stadium in Melton to secure that.

Not really the point is it, the fact is that because Allam got involved we have no idea what would have happened otherwise, your post is just one possible scenario.

Last time away game I went to, I could finally make out the chants that those success despising, Johnny Come-Lately CTWD types were singing.

I literally cringed with embarrassment as those unwashed new (nu) fans chanted about City being the greatest team (ever seen) on terra firma. Yes, better than all teams seen on planet Earth: Liverpool of the 70s/80s, the SAS, Dempsey & Makepeace et al.

Then I laughed like a kitten at the paradox: they claim we’re the best yet want us be back in Division 4 – where they’ve never even seen us.

Smugly, I sat back and gently caressed my chin to signal reflection; realising, I was actually being humorous.
