I think you could be right.Kenny has of yet hadn't a chance to look at it.If the reports are true that Raul Mereiles wants out because his family haven't acclimatised to the UK and he has the hump that he's not being offered a pay increase that he said he was offered by Hicks and Gillett. Then let him go,we have a like for like in Aquilani, both bomb forward and neither can tackle. Its not that we'll lose anything.Plus Aquilani is 2 years younger.

plus i think that AA is a better player than Raul, although i will be gutted to seem him leave if he does! the one and only decent thing that Hodgson done.

He said he wanted to stay to prove his worth last summer. I suspect his bird had as much to do with him wanting to stay in Italy because she didn't settle here. Certainly our future prospects look far rosier than Juve's.

He's jumped out of more challenges than Michael Carrick. So thats why I've said that he can't tackle.

Yeah I know he has mate, i'm not questioning why you said it as I actually agree with you

Its just something thats always puzzled me, why would Portugal put him there when he turns yellow when it comes to tackling?? And also did you notice he was always subbed wasnt he? Is his fitness not that good either?

I noticed that too, that he can't get past the 70th minute mark.Okay I'm not expecting him to be Dirk Kuyt, then again nobody is Dirk Kuyt,It seems that when DK was an infant,He was fed rocket fuel instead of baby food.He never stops. His Dutch International coach calls him ''Mr Duracell''.I would expect though that RM had the same energy levels as Stevie G however.

I personally feel that miereles we did pay alot of money for at an age which the new owners wouldn't have continued with.
Now is a good time to sell, after a good season and also still worth the value we paid so that the wage bill is reduced which will allow King Kenny to give Aquaman a run with the team.
He is nicknamed crystal legs but when I watched him for juventus he was throwing himself all round the park and also putting alot of great performances in.

But its the liverpool way now and we will see what happens when we need to know & all is confirmed.

I'm happy to have him back, think he's the kind of player that will link with Suarez well. Also recommend people look for the Youtube compilations of his last few games in England. I'm not talking goals and assists, but the ones that show every touch he makes in the 90 minutes, which i think can actually be somewhat useful in looking at a player (more useful than a goals video anyway)- guy oozes class. From what i've seen Juventus played him a bit deeper than we did, but i think he's best with a freer role.

Raul was good last season as he was one of the few players who refused to play long ball. Good player, but i think we can move him on for decent money without weakening the squad.

Welcome mate, was he really good at Juventus?

Why didnt they feel he was worth what we were asking for though?

Didnt they get a new manager in as well?

I would like him back. Earlier in the season, I thought selling him would be the best option but I've thought that he hasn't really had a chance to prove himself and he should be given his chance.

    Welcome back Alberto!

Good news this is. He deserves another set.

Glad we didnt fold to Juve either, they will regret not upping their bid.

Some of our midfielders have to go though. At least one.

I'm happy we didn't sell him on the cheap to Juventus who clearly have the cash after declaring their interest in Sergio Aguero. I hope Aquilani stays as he'll feel like a new signing.

Meireles role. If Meireles leaves Aquilani can step in and if we sign Adam its competition and more depth, nothing wrong with that.
