I was wondering what was the point of this, but perhaps he has pre-persuaded the other shareholders. The manx group have the largest share at something like 16%, so that means he'd surely need to have clubbed quite a few together.

It's lovely to see he's more worried about that investment, than the one currently occupying the relegation zone in the premier league <ok>

I doubt his overall focus is on either really considering his wealth comes from SD, I think in reallity MA is spinning the tables and seeing where it all lands, Rangers are in such a mess that it would be a cheap way into a club with a big world market and profile, although Ashley has overall a small stake he has major influence as one of the few people involved with the club who actually has money.

Lets just hope this is his opening ploy to completely take over Rangers and get rid of his Toon interest. No one is safe with Mike Ashley around ( except P45due )

I'm sure the Rangers fans are terrified at the prospect of Mike Ashley getting his claws into their club.

They would only have to look at the current Barclays Premier League table to see the 'potential' of the man <doh>

This is good news for us.
He it's clearly taking a closer interest in his next project.

The worry for me is who he punts us on to. Although potential buyers will not be queuing up at the price Ashley will want, I dread to think what his 'last act' could be.

He wants to own Rangers too so he can sell both clubs in a special, Sports Direct style, 'buy-one-get-one-free' offer!

He prefers red, so hopefully he'd be distracted by Sunderland and Boro!

    This.

It's potentially the stuff of nightmares.

Mike Ashley's obvious pursuit of Rangers is gathering pace and he's starting to show his hand.

He's a very cold and calculating businessman, but more than that, you can tell he really enjoys power-struggles of which more often than not, he wins.

Richard Wilson (no, not that one) of BBC Scotland writes an interesting piece:

He'll end up with a bullet in the post and maybe elsewhere if he ****s about with Rangers like he does with us.

They'll put up with a lot less **** than we currently do under him, regardless of their current situation.

Somehow I don't think Mike scares too easily. He'll do as pleases, as he does in every business venture he enters.

I see Mike is making further moves to muscle his way into a position of power with an offer of an emergency loan.
