No, no irony at all. Being chairman of a football club is a thankless task. Up and down the country, football fans only chant the name of the chairman when things go wrong. In all my years following City, I can only recall one occasion where fans gave a positive chant in support of a chairman. That was for Adam Pearson many years ago. Fans do nothing but demand, better players, better manager, better league position etc. but rarely give thanks when things go well. Like I said, this isn't just our club, it appears to be acceptable practice up and down the leagues.
If we got in every week for free I would agree with you, but most of us pay a lot of our hard earned cash into the club, and probably spend a lot larger percentage of our income than AA does. We have paid this into the club long before the Allam's bought it and will continue to do so after they have gone. I therefore feel we have the right to have an opinion whatever that might be.
What? Fans want success? How ****ing dare they! As I previously said, he has been thanked and praised countless times. Stop ignoring that for the sake of your warped argument.
I paid for my season pass, so why should I thank him/chant his name for taking my money? I don't chant the name of Greggs when the woman hands over my sausage roll. Also, I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of Hull City fans thought that Allam was our best owner up until this name change bollocks. We even stood by him after his piss-poor treatment of Barmby and his tantrum regarding the stadium/council. He's an arsehole, and he **** off for all I care.
Nothing wrong with wanting success, without ambition there's no point in trying. As for praise, a few words on a message board don't compare to hundreds of people chanting against you during the event you've provided. The culture of the football fan is wrong. Owners are taken for granted.
The vision of that made me chortle out loud: "There's only one Maureen, there's only one Maureen...." "Maureen, Maureen give us a wave".
He has had plenty of praise outside of messageboards ffs. Why is chanting suddenly the ****ing be all end all? He still thinks CTWD has only about a dozen members - but its plain to hear on 19 minutes that there are more than that.
Im pretty sure that you would organise a picket line if the name was changed to Breggs? Or would you still go in there and not really care? oh but you're a real fan of Greggs, I can see your boycott hurting the profits.
ppl seriously don't get it do they? IF YOU ARE STILL LINING HIS POCKETS TO GO WATCH HIS TEAM PLAY - you are nothing more than hypocritical scabs.
No one chants anti Allam songs even now. And there's been no protest against his ownership. He's behaved like an absolute silly **** yet most people still support him. Compare it to some other clubs where the owner is hated for far less than he has done. The growing problem is too many ****ers buying football clubs and running them into the ground, and too many fans starting to accept it. Not just here but at other clubs with similar problems.
Not you though. You're a real principled supporter. Do you get a toy with your Happy Meal when you watch the streams on your laptop?
Until the accounts for last year come out and prove otherwise, I'll hold the opinion that he hasn't run the club into the ground.
