I like Martin Clunes and consider him to be a talent, but there are characters that cannot and should not be replicated.

Reggie Perrin, Rigsby, Fletcher, Arkwright, Del Boy et al should be protected by law.

The Preservation of Comedic Genius, I'd call it.

I can't see how this film can be anything other than poop.

Dad's Army was stopped in 1977 because it wasn't funny anymore.

Fast-forward 37 years and the whole thing stinks of the film industry running-out of ideas.

If you look at the Directors other films, then it gives you a fair idea it's going to be car-crash-style viewing. Johnny English & St Trinians were utter ****e and this looks set to be no different.

    Everybody is.

I hope to be alive right up until the very last instant.

I also hope to get enough time to write/say my final words. It'll be "**** ye's" but I want the chance to say it.

Completely agree, same applies to pop music: even good covers such as The Stranglers version of Walk On By are never as good as the original.

Did they remake Pink Panther with Steve Martin as Clouseau? Never seen it, never going to.

Hmn. Apart from every cover of a Bob Dylan song, ever. Even Robert Zimmerman himself said Jimi Hendrix' version of "All Along The Watchtower" was better than his. See also Guns n Roses version of "Knocking On Heavens Door", The Byrds "Mr Tambourine Man", and many more.

Couldn't agree, even though the vocally challenged one says it himself.
Every Dylan original is the definitive and best version.
